Goedemiddag, dames en heren. Namens De NACO, stichtingsbestuur van Sportpark de Berckt, en het gemeentebestuur van Baarlo en Maasbree, heet ik u allen van harte welkom. Ook onze bezoekers uit Belgiƫ, ebenso wie unsere deutschen Freunden and the People from England. We hope that you you very good zult amuseren, diesen Mittag, op de mooiste racetrack van Europa'. De buitenlandse talen zijn niet geheel volgens het boekje, maar de toeschouwers weten wat er bedoeld wordt. Dan klinkt door tientallen luidsprekers het Wilhelmus. Aan vier masten worden de vlaggen gehesen. Met de oproep: 'Drivers, start your engines', wordt de baan vrijgegeven voor een middag autospektakel, snelheid en sensatie. Autospeedwayraces van de NACO in Baarlo. Een vorm van autosport die ruim 20 jaar werd bedreven op het mooiste circuit van Europa, zoals kenners beweren. Aan start staan de Stockars. De meest spectaculaire klasse. Voorafgegaan door de startcar rijden ruim 20 wagens de zogenaamde opwarmronde. De starter zwaait met de zwart wit geblokte startvlag, en daar is de meute los. De zware wagens, voorzien van een 8 cilindermotor, en met een eigen gewicht van zo'n ruim 1200 kg stormen, met brullende motoren, op de Baarlobocht af. Elke coureur probeert in een zo gunstig mogelijke positie door de bocht te komen. Dat wordt wrikken en duwen. De commentatoren begeleiden het hele spektakel in het Nederlands zowel als in het Duits

Brisca F1 Stock Car World Final 21-9-13.. 1/217 Lee Fairhurst starting on Pole Position as he defends his title, leads the pack round on the rolling lap, with one of the race favourites, 197 Ryan Harrison along side.. Row 2 saw 259 Paul Hines, and 84 Tom Harris.. Any of these 4 were to be considered as the next World Champion.. Harrison powers away from the outside, getting the drop as the green flag is thrown, 84 Tom Harris also finding plenty of grip on the outside, storms straight onto Fairhurst in his quest for glory.. Harris quickly moves into 2nd, going into turn3 Fairhurst moves in on Harris, but coming out of turn4, finds himself out of shape, spinning out of contention.. 150 Mick Sworder was another one to depart early after being jammed in a tangle on the home straight with USA12 Josh Pelkey.. Meanwhile, up front, Harrison is starting to open up a small gap, with Harris appearing to throw himself into armaco, as he is carrying so much speed in an attempt to catch Harrison.. Hines makes a move on Harris, putting him wide, brushing the armaco yet again, just as the yellow flags are shown.. Race order on the re-start sees Harrison leading the field away, with Harris sat poised and perfectly placed in second, with Hines third.. Harrison powers away as the green flag is shown once again, with Harris following close behind.. 2 laps in, with Harrison going wide, Harris sees his chance, ducks under Harrison in turn1/2, and powers into the lead.. 55 Craig Finnikin slowly reels in Harrison, moving himself into second.. A luckless Hines was to retire with damage after suffering brake failure, something that blighted the Hines shale shifter early season.. Upfront, Tom Harris opened up a huge gap to the second place man, and seemingly put on a masterclass drive when it mattered most.. 84 Tom Harris was to take the win, becoming the Brisca F1 World Champion 2013, with 55 Craig Finnikin second, 197 Ryan Harrison taking third, 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr from his row 11 start, taking fourth and 2 Paul Harrison rounding out the top five.. Quote from Tom in the post-race interview.. 'A lot of people took the piss when I built and debuted my new car earlier this year.. I only built it for one reason, to win the World Final.. Semi-Final.. 16 Matt Newson takes the win, securing himself a front row start come September.. A hard charging 4 Dan Johnson takes second, with 515 Frankie Wainman third, and 217 Lee Fairhurst, back out on the loose taking a solid fourth.. Newson got the drop on Wainman as the green dropped, and never really came under any great pressure as he he stormed to victory.. 197 Ryan Harrison manages to get up to third at one point, but is spun out of contention entering turn 3 , and collecting the stationary car of 372 Colin Goodswen.. Harrison picking up damage is forced to retire, and also retires from the meeting.. Enjoy.. :o)

G.N. Final 1/84 Tom Harris leads the field round from the lap-handicap.. It was 16 Matt Newson and the Wainman boys, 212 Danny and 515 Frankie Jnr, with 4 Dan Johnson who were making a move through the pack.. The race is brought under caution after 462 Scott Davids slaps the end of the turn 4 plating, and with nowhere to go, 94 John Dowson also gets caught out.. As the yellows are thrown, Davids a manages to straighten up, and clear the racing line, but the race was already being brought under caution.. On the re-start 512 Michael Steward leads from H19 Geerit Zwever, and 141 Carl Pickering.. 321 Ed Neachell takes up the running from 166 Bobby Griffin, with 515 Wainman Jnr, 16 Matt Newson and 318 Rob Speak, in pursuit of leader 512 Michael Steward.. Speak delivers a decisive blow entering turn 1, putting Newson onto Wainman, who part spins, only to be collected by Griffin.. 1/84 Tom Harris making use of his superior tar car, and the caution had made progress through the field, before being abruptly fired into the wall by 4 Dan Johnson.. Harris ended with a fair bit of damage, which resulted in a trip back home to repair the car for the following days racing.. Speak went onto take the win, with 212 Danny Wainman second, 16 Matt Newson third, 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr fourth, and 321 Ed Neachell rounding out the top five.. Enjoy.. :o)

Stock Car Crash
Caught on a home video camera, this footage was shot at a stock car race at the Kalamazoo Speedway in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The driver of the wrecked car, Rick McMullen, was able to escape the wreck as firefighters dowsed the flames after the car slid to a stop in turn three.
