Hummer H2, H3 & H3T vs Jeep JK at Beasley Knob
3 Hummers (H2, H3, & H3T) and a Jeep JK hit 93C at Beasley Knob. At the
first big hill climb 5:00, the H3s both spun their tires until winching and
towing themselves out. There was a stock Nissan Pathfinder that made a
valiant effort, and made it just as far as the H3s before getting winched.
The H2 made it through, but I wasn't there to see it - had to leave the
park for a bit to get the wife. I filmed myself going up the same section,
and the jeep did not spin a tire at all. You can jump to 11:47 to see the
JK hit it.
IMO the H3s failed due to a lack of articulation - no flex whatsoever in
the front. One had lockers, the other only limited slip, but it didn't
make much of a difference.
Moab Easter Jeep Safari 2010 Moab Rim Trail in a Willys Jeep
Easter Jeep Safari 2010. Taking my Willys MB on the Moab Rim Trail. I did
this last year with my JK so I let my buddy the "Troublemaker" from
Illinois have a little fun. Only the V8 engined Jeeps made it to the top of
the Sand Dune at max throttle. The MB did it at half power!! Go to
www.jeepingoffroad.com for the Willys build up and more Jeeping adventures.
Jeep Liberty pulls out a stuck Range Rover on the beach
A 2002 Jeep Liberty pulls out a beached Range Rover. Always air down!
Before we hooked up the strap, we tried moving sand away from the vehicle
to allow it to move under its own power.
That was not successful.
A snatch strap was used, not a regular tow strap.
Maybe just a little too much power, but if you went slower you risked the
chance of getting the recovery vehicle stuck.
The Rover must have lost momentum in the deep soft sand.
We found him spinning his tires and digging himself out with a lacrosse
He didn't have any recovery tools or any required items for the beach, ie:
shovel, jack board, air compressor.
He was a nice guy though. I'm glad we were nearby and able to help him out.
