Only 878 Americans bought one in 2009 (yeah, nice going, you guys), and the most BMW ever sold was 2,351 back in 2005.

Kei-Car Attacks USA! 2010 Mitsubishi i Road Test Video
2010 Mitsubishi i Full Test and Video: http://www.insideline.com/mitsubishi/i/2010/2010-mitsubishi-i-full-test-and -video.html More Articles: http://www.insideline.com Car Prices & Info: http://www.edmunds.com Twitter Feed: http://twitter.com Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/ins... Hi-Res Videos: http://www.hulu.com/edmunds-in side-line Think Mitsubishi, turbocharged and all-wheel drive. Now think midengine, five doors and three cylinders. Baffled? So were we until this eggplant-purple 2010 Mitsubishi i pulled into our office for a full shakedown several weeks back. Now we're just, well, curious. There are several reasons for this. First, the Mitsubishi i is a machine meant for the famous Kei-car segment in the Japanese domestic market. Like the microcars of France, the keijidosha vehicles must meet strict limits on size, engine displacement and power, which entitle them to tax breaks. It is a class of urban commuters — cars designed to travel at low speed in congested areas and then be parked easily.

Can Jag Beat BMW? Jaguar XF vs BMW 550i @ the Track
MORE TRACK INFO @ INSIDELINE.COM: http://blogs.edmunds.com/straightline/2009/05/il-track-tested-2009-bmw-550i -vs-2010-jaguar-xf.html?tid=edmunds.il.home.photopanel..2.* Last May, the newly introduced Jaguar XF surprised us. It went head to head with the best midsize luxury sedans from Germany and came out on top. It was fast, comfortable and surprisingly competent through turns, but of course, that was the top-of-the-line supercharged model. For 2010, the Jaguar XF gets a pair of all-new 5.0-liter V8s: one normally aspirated in the XF Premium, the other supercharged in the new XFR. We'll test an XFR soon, but today Inside Line is the first to take the new non-supercharged 5.0-liter-powered 2010 Jaguar XF Premium to the test track. Rated at 385 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque it's not quite as powerful as the former 4.2-liter supercharged V8, but it's close. To see just how close, we brought back a 2009 BMW 550i to see how the new Jag stacks up when it's not getting help from a Supercharger. Given that the BMW is giving up 25 hp and 20 lb-ft of torque, we expected a close contest - and got one.

BMW & Benz Rev Up @ the Track - BMW 750Li and Mercedes S550
BMW VS. MERCEDES TRACK SMACK @ INSIDELINE.COM: http://blogs.edmunds.com/straightline/2009/04/il-track-tested-2009-bmw-750l i-vs-2009-mercedes-benz-s550.html?tid=edmunds.il.home.photopanel..2.* These are the big guns from BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Well, not the biggest guns, but with prices near or above the $100,000 range, they're big enough. The BMW 750Li is all-new for 2009 and looking better than ever. Its 400-horsepower twin-turbo V8 makes it the closest thing to a "Motorsport" 7 Series we have ever seen. The Mercedes-Benz S550 is getting a face-lift next year, but the current model has held up well. And with a 382-horsepower V8 of its own, it doesn't give up much to the new BMW. One look at the track numbers and you'll be amazed what these 2.25-ton sedans can do. From 13-second quarter-mile sprints to 110-foot stops from 60 mph, these two sedans are perfect examples of what can be accomplished when money is no object. Full details after the jump.

2011 BMW 535i GT Start-Up and Full Vehicle Tour
A beautiful car in person, I spotted this 2011 F07 BMW 535i GT at the local BMW showroom yesterday. I asked a friend whether I could take a video of it, and he said ok. It was about to go into the showroom that evening. This is the only 5 GT model available in Malaysia, and it's priced at RM638,800. This is about RM40,000 more expensive than the F10 BMW 535i saloon that is priced at RM598,800. A few things I didn't show in the video; Powered driver and front passenger seats with two person memory seating. Powered tilt and telescopic steering wheel. Navigation screen (I only showed the radio). There is a button above the bonnet release inside the car to open the boot. The AUX and USB ports in the centre glovebox.

BMW 550i GranTurismo GT--Video Test Drive with Chris Moran from Chicago Motor Cars
http://www.SupercarNetwork.com A promotional pilot we filmed with help from Elmhurst BMW. This is the BMW 550i GT with Chris Moran from Chicago Motor Cars The unusually shaped BMW 550i Gran Turismo provides incredible long-distance touring comfort for four passengers. It's like being in a private jet, especially if you order the business class seating in back, then pile on the entertainment and driver assistance options. Costs like a private jet, too. Between BMW's two hatchback-like recent offerings, the 550i GT is the better vehicle than the two-year-old BMW X6. The GT will be even more desirable once BMW in the spring adds versions with a 300-hp six-cylinder engine and with all-wheel-drive. Only two things require acclimatization: the view from the outside looking at the side and rear, and the view from inside looking out the rear window. I put nearly 1,000 effortless miles on the 550i GT in a long, single-day trip down the Eastern seaboard during a gloomy, damp winter day and night, the kind of day that inspired Edward George Bulwer-Lytton to take pen in hand and proclaim, "It was a dark and stormy night." With a price starting at $65,275 and topping $90,000, the 550i GT represents excess, just not Bulwer-Lytton's wretched excess. Virtually every one of the $1,000-here, $2,500-there options has a reason for being in the car. As with other high end BMWs, there are more than a dozen entertainment, performance, driver assistance, and pampering options. For the comfortably affluent car fanatic, I cannot imagine a better vehicle for hauling four adults and their luggage long distances. An Acura ZDX, Audi Q7, BMW X5 / X6, Porsche Cayenne or Panamera, Lexus LX 570, Cadillac Escalade, or Infiniti QX56 all lack that ultimate luxury of rear seat comfort equal to the front seat. Great for the Driver Slide behind the wheel and you're in the best seat in the house. Vision systems help you in front (night vision, parking sonar, swiveling xenon headlamps), in back (backup camera, parking sonar), and to the side (side cameras, lane departure warning, blind spot detection). A $1,300 head-up display (photo left) puts only the most important information in a virtual window at the base of the windshield, reducing driver distraction. The $4,200 sport package helps the car bank through turns and the suspension and drivetrain can be set for comfort, normal, or sport-calibrated ride. So you order the sport package if you want the best ride, not just sportiest, ride. Navigation comes standard, on a 10.2-inch 1280 x 480 display that can be split to show, say, navigation and entertainment details. The current iDrive cockpit controller is much easier to master. Order the $1,950 premium seats and you get a massage feature that raises and lowers the left and right seat bottom halves just enough to keep your butt from falling asleep. The $1,750 active steering package changes the steering ratio at low speed for easier parking lot maneuvers and the rear wheels also steer slightly, opposite the front wheels at low speed for sharper turns, same direction as the front wheels at high speed for smoother lane changes. The engine is a 400-hp twin-turbo V8 with an eight-speed automatic transmission (BMW's first). It gets to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds and passes most everything on the highway except gas stations. On my mostly highway trip I got 21 mpg and saw 23 mpg level-ground cruising at 70 mph; the EPA rating is 15 mpg city, 21 mph highway, using premium fuel. That's not bad, but the coming 300-hp six will still be cat quick and probably manage 25 mpg loping along the interstate, and you won't get the feeling, "Maybe we should top off the tank," at every bathroom break. While it's not a hybrid, there is a brake energy regeneration system. The oversize battery is charged primarily by power generated when you apply the brakes. This is part of what BMW calls Efficient Dynamics.
