1950 Mercury Coupe for sale in Chicago Illinois. This 50 Mercury is very custom and cool! This style is often referred to as a lead sled or a street rod and fits these old Mercs very well! Chopped 3.5\", custom hood, custom door handles, frenched in headlights, molded in bumpers, and much much more make this car a true one of a kind! This Mercury lead sled for sale has won many awards like Best of Show and also the James Dean Award! The frame on this car has been modified as well with a 1972 Nova front subframe, 8 3/4\" rear end with 3.23 posi gears, Mercury rear suspension, drilled and slotted front disc brakes with Baer rotors, custom stainless steel gas tank, and more. The engine is a 1973 Cadillac 500 CID V8 bored .030 over with a custom built intake manifold, Inglese induction system, Weber 48 IDA carburetors, top of the line electric fuel pump, stainless braided fuel lines, and stainless steel FlowMaster Exhaust with 40 series mufflers. The transmission is a turbo 400 from a 73 Cadillac with shift kit and 2,000 stall converter. The interior is nicely done in grey tweed and vinyl with a custom headliner, Auto Meter gauges, AM/FM/Cassette/CD player, and a steering wheel that matching the aluminum alloy wheels. Options include AM/FM/Cassette/CD player, power brakes, power steering, tilt wheel, seat belts, cloth and vinyl interior, radial tires and aluminum alloy wheels. Wheel Lip Mouldings On A Budget - 1967-1968 Mercury Cougar
For Cougars, trim pieces can be very expensive. The wheel lip mouldings are not reproduced for 67-68 Cougars, so your only options are to have your originals restored, which is very costly (over $400 for a set of 4) or find NOS trim, which is also very expensive and they are almost impossible to find. The good news is, there is another option! We've found that the reproduction 1971-73 Mustang wheel lip mouldings can be easily modified to fit a 67-68 Cougar. While the fit isn't perfect and the profile is a little different, these mouldings only cost about $120 for 4 and look great once installed. Or, if you send us your original core trim, we'll give you these for free. Using two right rears and two left rears, the only modifications you need to do are 1) drill new holes in your wheel arch and 2) trim the rear mouldings to fit. Watch the video and you'll see it's really quite easy, and the result looks great considering the low cost.
