Fresh from a complete frame-off restoration and packing a properly rebuilt and restored 429 V8, this '69 Boss 429 gives you the best of both worlds: owning a rare, investment grade muscle car at a price that allows you to drive it a bit and enjoy it!
In March of 2003, after almost 35 years of accident free driving and excellent maintenance this killer Mustang was purchased by a new owner and subjected to a highly detailed frame off restoration. During that cars restoration, all of its original panels were stripped to bare metal and thoroughly worked to ensure a super smooth surface with laser straight lines. Once the body was fully prepped and displayed excellent fit and finish, a correct coat of Candyapple Red basecoat/clearcoat was expertly applied from tip to tail, and buffed to the fantastic shine you see here. Completed in early 2011, and with only 19 miles of road time since being rolled out of the paint booth, Boss 429 #1541 is an amazing piece of Mustang legend.
Lift the glossy red hood and you'll find a correct 429 cubic inch warranty replacement V8 that's been completely rebuilt, bored .030 over and produces somewhere north of 500 horsepower. At the top of the engine bay, the cars original widened shock tower brace hovers over a correct blue air cleaner which feeds a correct Holley C9AZ-9510-S 4-barrel carburetor. Below that carburetor, original (to the block) heads hold new stainless valves and springs below polished Boss 429 valve covers and chrome Ford Racing breather caps. Below those heads, a NOS Boss T crank spins balanced billet Crower rods and forged Ross Racing stock compression pistons; and a .580 lift cam pushes traditional solid lifters. Fire is provided by a correct Autolite coil which sends fire to an Accel points distributor and Moroso Ultra Race wires. And cooling is provided by the cars original oil cooler and radiator which is complete with fresh Autolite hoses and correct tower clamps.
Behind the big 429, the cars original close ratio Top Loader 4-speed is still hooked to its original flywheel and bell housing. At the back of that transmission, an original driveshaft spins an original Ford 9 inch Traction-Lok rear end that is complete with asphalt shredding 3.90 gears and an original metal maintenance tag. At the front of the car, a rebuilt double A-arm coil spring suspension holds a rebuilt factory optioned power steering system between aftermarket spindles which hang SSBC vented rotors and SSBC calipers. At the back of the car, a rebuilt leaf spring suspension holds correct drum brakes at the edges of a factory equipped rear sway bar and a new stainless fuel tank. And in the middle of the car, subframe connectors seamlessly parallel a factory replacement Exhaust system that's complete with an H-pipe, correct resonators and a correct transversely mounted muffler. Power is put to the pavement by great looking 15 inch chrome Magnum 500 wheels that are wrapped in fresh 215/60 front and 255/60 rear BF Goodrich Radial T/As.
Take a look inside this Boss 429 and you'll find a completely restored correct Clarion Knit vinyl interior with hi-back bucket seats, fully rebuilt gauges and bright re-chromed knobs. The rebuilt and re-covered black Clarion knit buckets are in spectacular shape both front and back, and there is no evidence of sun damage or rot on the fresh dual cowl dash pad. Inside that dash, excellent looking wood applique trims clear gauges, a functioning passenger's side clock and a correct Philco AM radio; and below the dash, a full length center console holds a traditional chrome Hurst shifter in front of a chrome lighter and deep console. At the sides of the car, sculpted door panels are decorated with more wood trim and re-chromed knobs, and in front of the driver, the cars original factory optioned Rim Blow deluxe steering wheel has been restored to perfectly match the wood trim on the dash and console.
Documented, fully sorted and one of the most sinister Mustangs we've ever had, it drives and sounds every bit as good as it looks! Call, click or visit http://RKMotorsCharlotte.com for more information on this awesome car!
1969 Mustang Boss 302 - Signed by Larry Shinoda
My dad's 1969 Boss 302 that he has had since 1998. It was signed by Larry Shinoda (the man who designed the car) in 1994 at a Mustang show in Charlotte, North Carolina at the motor speedway. He has since passed away. So enjoy the video and the car, car is started up about halfway into the video.
Mustang '69 Sportback restored perfectly .
Another in the "Old things that still work" series. This '69 Mustang Sportback has been restored beautifully by Robert Tolle in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. His craftsmanship is evident throughout the car, in every detail. Although he loves the car, he admitted that he'd consider selling, since he's looking for another restoration project..... would you believe, an Airstream trailer, something around 20', he informs me.
