Drag Racing - Notes from 34th Annual Auto-Plus Night Under Fire listing lane, driver name, and elapsed time/top speed this round: Nitro Funny Cars Much of Huron County had a power outage from just before 9:00 pm until 10:40 and we were dark, but Ohio Edison has restored power and the show is back on. During the power outage fans were remarkably patient and when professional racing resumed very few fans had left. Tonight's format has one round of qualifying and one final round to determine the winner. In the consolation round, number 3 qualifier Jeff Arend in the Budweiser lane faces number 4 qualifier Jim Head in the Summit lane. Budweiser (Right) Lane: Jeff Arend runs 4.529/254.04 ***WINNER*** Summit (Left) Lane: Jim Head runs 10.222/65.75 Head pedaled to try to maintain traction and shut down. Arend had a solid launch, shut down around the 660-foot mark then put his foot back in it to take the win.
