Toyota Carolla 1.8 VVTL-i T-Sport * 0-60mph in 6.5s (Blitz SUS Power Induction Kit) *
This is a standard Corolla T Sport 1.8 VVTL-i the only modification on it is the Blitz SUS induction kit which adds (10 Bhp, I think). The tested 0-60mph (0-100kmh) in 6.5s (is calculated using my camera with 30 frames per second) which beats the cars original spec so well done Blitz!
1ZZFE Oil Consumption Fix How-To 8th Gen VVTi Corolla +similar
1ZZ... engines are notorious for oil consumption caused by piston rings
frozen with carbon deposits. The oil loss is worsens with time. This
video documents the repair I performed on my 8th generation VVTi Corolla.
Similar vehicles with a zz engines can also be repaired. This repair was
performed using the instructions provided by Bennie Aust at Toyota Nation:
il-consumption-fix.html A list of parts, tools, and assistance from Bennie
himself can be found there. So far, Bennie's instructions have been used
with these vehicle models: '98 Prizm, '99 Prizm, '00 Prizm, '00 Corolla,
'01 Corolla, '01 Celica GT, '00 Celica GT-S 2ZZ-GE, '01 Saturn SL2.
The video includes additional gasket changes, the replacement of a broken

I am not a mechanic. If this video helps you know what you will be getting
into if you decide to do this repair, then, great! Please don't take
anything in this video as the gospel truth. Always refer to your service
manual and seek the advice of someone who actually knows what they are
UPDATE: Just want to let everyone know that after 2,000 miles the car is
running great! There is zero oil consumption, and with the new injectors
and seals the car feels like it is brand new.
I had a few people ask me where I got the service manual. I got it from
the TIS (Technical Information System) website, the official Toyota
technical support site at http://techinfo.toyota.com -- they offer 2 day
access passes for $15. I just printed the pages I needed for the repair to
a PDF so I could use my iPad under the car.

I recorded this video for enjoying the car and the pleasing whine of Ogura

easy cruising around the boring roads of southern Finland :-)
Turn off the radio, open up the windows and enjoy...
