Restore vw fastback 19
This is a video of me and my auto mechanics students restoring a 72 vw
fastback. My middle son got a new camera for Christmas and wanted to try
out the video part of it so I thought we would give it a go. I found out
most of the idle problem. Jim suggested to spray some WD40 in the idle
circuit and see if it comes out both sides. Well I didn't have WD40 but I
had PB blaster so I used that. Sure enough it was stopped up with some
kind of trash. Unplugged that but it is still idling a little low so I
checked the timing since we swapped out the points. The timing is a tad
low. The Bentley says to line the third line from the left on the timing
marks with the center of the peep hole on the Gen belt cover. l l ll But
the highest I can get it is the second mark from the left. I can't go any
higher because the fitting on the advance for the vacuum hose hits the
generator. I guess I didn't get the distributor in there quite right
during engine assembly. Any suggestions on pulling that shaft out so I can
turn it a notch? The car runs good but not quite right as like I said the
idle seems low, the plugs still try to foul a little when the engine is
cold and it still has a random slight skip every once and a while as you
may hear in the video. Anyway had fun just putting 6 miles on it today just
circling the campus today.

VW 1600 motor rebuild - part 4
The final part of this series covering the rebuild of a dual relief twin
port 1600 Volkswagen motor. In this video fitting the fan housing, tinware
and Exhaust as well as a test run.
I have owed this 1965 VW Notchback twice. It was the first car I ever owed
back in 1984 but I sold it in 1986. I bought the same car back in 2010 from
the guy I sold it to 24 years ago .

ISP West "over the top" exhaust for VW Type 3
The old wheels sold quicker than I expected and the new rear wheels aren't
ready yet, so we're limited to the car sitting on jackstands. Definitely
quieter on the outside than with the merged header and stinger. I can't
wait to see if it is measurably quieter inside the cabin.
VW Type 3 Custom Exhaust
A custom Exhaust I made for my 69
Squareback. It tucks up nicely. Perfect for a lowered car. Sounds deep and
throaty as well. Engine is a 1835cc with dual Baby Weber ICT34's, OG german
case, crank, cam, lifters. MOFOCO 042 big valve heads. Empi 1 5/8 merged
headers. Feel free to ask any questions.
