BMW M550d TriTurbo (381hp) vs. Audi A7 BiTurbo (313hp) - 0-250 km/h (1080p FULL HD)
Pure 0-250km/h acceleration comparision between a 2013 BMW M550d Tri-turbo Diesel (381hp, 740Nm) and a 2013 Audi
A7 Biturbo-TDI (313hp, 650Nm). Both have
3.0 6-cylinder diesel engines cuppled to 8-speed ZF transmissions and
AWD-systems (xDrive, Quattro). While the Audi has 2 turbochargers the BMW actually offers 3 that build
up a massive amount of torque. Comparing the weight the Audi should be a
bit lighter but has the disadvantage of running on slightly larger wheels
(BMW 19, Audi 20). Of course the rest of the circumstances as wind
direction and speedometer inaccuracy are known, but should not
significantly influence this race. Up to 180 the Audi keeps up pretty good,
but what the BMW delivers above 200 is just beserk, it hits the 250 speed
limiter pretty harsh;-) Both cars are driven the same way without using

BMW M550d Test

Check out the savage torque this super car delivers together with a
fantastic sound. The test was carried out during a 2 hour, 170km ride and
the average consumption was 13,4L/100km.

Diesel (381hp, 740Nm) supported by 8-speed ZF and xDrive system. The
outcome: Well, its hard to describe. Once you have driven the first meters
you instantly feel the weight of the car. It feels comfortable and heavy,
almost like a 7-series. At low revs and in comfort mode there is nothing
that distinguishes this car from, lets say a 530d. But once you hit sport
mode and press the gas all the way through it is just amazing how this big
ole bus rockets aways from anything else on the road. I can just tell you,
it is all about the torque!!! From 0-100 could have gone quicker but how
this car accelerates from 160 - 260 is unrivalled, at least in the diesel

BMW M550d X Drive road test.
It has more torque than the space shuttle and BMW claims it will do over
40mpg. BMW also says it won't be selling the car in the UK or the US, the
places that DRIVE is most commonly viewed. But when something has 3 turbos, you've got to go drive it at 155mph: no?
