Audi - "Return to Snake River Canyon"
The Audi RS badge brings the exhilarating experience of a track-engineered
racecar to the everyday road. With a 450 hp 4.2-liter V8, the RS 5
embodies the performance legacy of the Audi name. Since the brand's
inception over a hundred years ago, Audi has competed on a global scale
resulting in numerous world championships. It's with this spirit that Audi

sites of all time) to demonstrate the excitement surrounding one of our
latest performance models—the RS 5.
Audi RS Moments of Truth - 2011: Audi ultra
Audi RS "Moments of Truth" is a series of highly stylized, dynamic
short-form documentaries that capture a moment in time -- visual, visceral
proof of the impact that technological innovation and risk-taking has had
on performance in a highly competitive world.
This film tells the story of Audi ultra through the victory of the R18 at
the 2011 24 Hours of LeMans. Race driver Benoît Tréluyer and race
engineer Leena Gade focus the story on Tréluyer's incredible outside pass
of the Peugeot car in the late stages of the race. Tréluyer's risky pass
that contributed to ultimate victory was made with the confidence of
knowing the R18 possessed unparalleled power and handling by virtue of
Audi ultra lightweight technology. The film then links this motor sports
moment of truth to a story of ultra philosophy as implemented in the RS 5.
quattro GmbH engineer Michael Kerber brings to life the visual
technological proof in the form of waved brakes in the RS 5 and through
specific track footage of the RS 5.

The Audi e-tron Spyder in Malibu, California
The Audi e-tron Spyder features what is without a doubt the most advanced
and simultaneously the most consistent evolution of the current Audi design
language, while also providing initial hints at the design language of
future Audi sports cars. It reinterprets the most important design elements
that already characterized the previous e-tron concept vehicles. This also
ensures the necessary formal differentiation to the purely electric-powered
Audi e-tron shown at the 2010 Detroit Motor Show. The two-seater is
equipped with a 300-hp twin-turbo V6 TDI
at the rear axle and two electric motors producing a total of 64 kW at the
front axle. The Audi e-tron Spyder's low total weight of 3,196 lbs combined
with the high-torque TDI and the two electric motors results in respectable
performance. The car accelerates to 60 in less than 4.5 seconds, and top
speed is electronically governed at 155 mph.

► 2013 Audi RS5 - Full Throttle
The Audi RS 5 Coupé uses a high-revving, normally aspirated V8 displacing
4,163 cc. This engine is closely related to the V10 that powers the R8
high-performance sports car. The 4.2 FSI delivers 331 kW (450 hp) at 8,250
rpm, with the peak torque of 430 Nm (317.15 lb-ft) available between 4,000
and 6,000 rpm. The engine has a specific output of 108.1 hp per liter of
displacement. The potent response, the eager revving and the rich,
melodious sound mark the V8 as a thoroughbred racing engine.
Hand-built at the plant in Györ, Hungary, the 4.2 FSI launches the Coupé
from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 4.6 seconds. Audi will increase the
electronically governed top speed from 250 to 280 km/h (155.34 to 173.98
mph) upon request. Thanks to the combination of technologies from the Audi
modular efficiency platform, which also includes a recuperation system, the
high-tech V8 consumes significantly less fuel on average than its direct

2013 Audi RS5 Review - Kelley Blue Book
Building on the charms of its A5 and S5 coupe siblings the 2013 Audi RS5
asserts its range-topping position with excellent design, exhilarating yet
unintimidating performance and an iconoclastic spirit. It also commands a
$10,000 premium versus its primary competitors. Is the RS 5 is worth the
cost? KBB's Micah Muzio analyzes the situation in this video.

Acoustic Innovation: e-sound by Audi
Audi's future e-tron models will cover long distances powered by
practically silent electric motors. To ensure that pedestrians in urban
settings will hear them, the brand has developed a synthetic solution: Audi
Sound is an especially exciting aspect of a vehicle. Although it can be
described in physical terms, there is no substitute for experiencing it
firsthand. A car's sound is emotional, not intellectual. Although we
consciously register a car's sounds only occasionally while on the road,
they are always there -- playing a crucial role in the driving experience.
Sounds send signals. Low-range frequencies suggest power and composure,
while mid-range frequencies emit sportiness and agility.
In a series-production Audi, a combustion engine currently supplies the
music. Conversely, the motor in an electric-powered e-tron is not an
option, as it is too quiet and its high frequencies are not exactly
melodious. Audi's e-tron models will therefore feature a synthetic sound
signature. Rudolf Halbmeir teamed up with his colleagues Axel Brombach and
Dr. Lars Hinrichsen to create it.
The e-sound by Audi may be artificial, but it is authentic. In fact, the
e-tron itself generates its sound by the millisecond. Dr. Lars Hinrichsen,
the expert for hardware and software, explains: "Data relating to the
electric motor's rotational speed, vehicle speed, loads, and other
parameters is continuously supplied by the vehicle to the control unit. It
then uses this data to generate sound."

Audi quattro® TV Commercial - "Ahab" (60s)
Over 30 years ago, Audi pioneered permanent four-wheel drive with Audi
quattro®. Today it's the world's top selling AWD system. But sadly for one
tormented soul, its legacy is more a source of humiliation than
celebration. Inspired by one of the all-time classics in American
literature, Audi re-imagines Herman Melville's epic struggle between
obsessed sea captain and elusive white whale to bring the legend of
quattro® to life.
