These are gorgeous cars - the Galaxie, Thunderbird and Falcon. And the Falcon got up to 30 MPG! Dig those women's fashions, too - you almost expect Jackie Kennedy to step out of the car.
1960 Ford Commercial Burl Ives Voice Over?
This is another one of the Wonderful World of Ford Commercials for 1960. This sounds like Burl Ives doing the voice over. The ad features a retrospect of cars from Ford from it's then 57 year history. It's a very nice recap. You can't quite see the new Fords as they won't be introduced until later. This was a Teaser Commercial of thing yet to come for 1960.
Route 66 Classic Cars
Back in the days when cars had style, and even with so many makes and models, all changing every year, they made a profit. And, not only that . . but one could sit on the porch and name the cars as they drove by. Unlike today, when they all look the same . This is when a car was a car, so sit back as we go back and get your Kicks On Route 66 Classic Cars
1960 CHEVROLET CORVAIR COMMERCIAL JIMMY DEAN
Popular entertainer pitches the new, 1960 Chevrolet Corvair in this vintage, "live" commercial. Motor Trend's "Car of the Year" in 1960, the rear drive, air-cooled engined Corvair was a radical departure from other Detroit designs of the decade. Although expensive to manufacture, the "compact car" was initially a success for General Motors with annual sales often exceeding 200,000 units and total sales from the nine years of production (1960-1969) totalling 1,786,243 cars. Following the safety issued raised about the car in Ralph Nader's 1965 book, UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED resulting in sales plummeting 95% between 1965 and 1969, GM cancelled production of the car.

1960 Ford Galaxie Starliner hardtop
The Galaxie name started with mid 1959 Ford models. Here it showcases a complete redesign, as the Galaxie Starliner. Gone are the round tailights....but they would be back again the following year. I really like the swept back roof as it contrasts with the squarish appearance of the lower body. This one has a floor mounted shifter for the manual transmission.

1961 Ford Galaxie Sedan Andy Griffith Tribute Full In Depth Tour
This Galaxie was an Andy Griffith Tribute car years ago, it does not fun but I was able to check it all out, it's not every day you get to see one of these cars. It was in rough shape and looked like it had been sitting for many many years. Other than the obvious cosmetic issues, the car looked to be in fantastic shape! Hope everyone enjoys checking this out as much as I did
