Pontiac G8 GT drag racing in car
My Pontiac G8 GT at Cordova Dragway. Runs were made during National G8 meet September 2011. Mods are Volant intake, Vector Motorsports stage 1.5 cam and tune, Kooks headers w/catted midpipe system to stock axleback mufflers. Last run was personal best 12.95 at 109.8 mph on the last run. This was with street tires 285-35-19 Nitto Invo, so not great traction, best 60ft is over 2 seconds. Drag tires should help with that, hopefully.

Made a couple of friendly pulls in the wife's G8 with a buddy's new Challenger he recently bought. 4th gear was giving him trouble, so we didn't get to get the ideal 40-130MPH pulls we wanted to do, but fun nonetheless...

Lazy 60 foot, for some reason the car was 67% throttle until 7mph. Car was 60 footing in the 1.61's last year. Banged the limiter on the 3-4 shift and pulled the throttle back and 25* of timing when that happened. Hope to make it back out soon and get a clean pass.
1st gear saw a peak of 9.72psi
2nd was 10.15
3rd was 10.88 on the limiter

Many of you will recall the initial matchup between the wife's 2009 Pontiac G8 GT & a buddy's 2012 Dodge Challenger 392 along with the horrible problems he experienced with the transmission in his brand new car. Since the car was well within warranty, he fought with Chyrsler to fix the transmission properly so that wouldn't occur again. After several confrontations with them and money out of pocket, he finally just handled the situation himself and upgraded quite a few of the components along the way.
Did one pull from 40-130MPH and a second pull or 25-145MPH.
