NRE Encounters Black Hole While Testing Engine. 2500 HP 632CI BBC. Nelson Racing Engines. Camaro.
This is an unusual NRE Dyno room visit. First, this
beast broke the Dyno
again. Second, this engine is one of the meanist engines Tom has ever
designed. Tom has to go to extreme measures to test this extreme horsepower engine. Then
there is the issue of the encounter with the Black Hole. Man that is
crazy! The City of Chatsworth seems to have questions. Its not our fault!

Jeep Cherokee XJ with Flowmaster supper 44
LISTEN TO THIS WITH HIGH QUALITY HEADPHONES OR SPEAKERS ONLY. Like
anything, it wont sound the same, or near the same unless you use high
quality listening devices. Turn the bass up and enjoy. Its not obnoxiously
loud at idol, and sounds pretty deep and smooth on hard excelleration, and
on deceleration(engine breaking) it sounds pretty raspy and bad ass. I've
never been one for an obnoxiously loud exahust, but I really love the sound
and tone produced by this muffler.
I purchased it at performancecurve.com. The owner is a vendor on
cherokeeforum.com and is a really great guy. The kit is around $100, but
shipping across the country was $50. Even so, $150 for a cat back system
like this is an incredible price.

We just got the exhuast manifold back from the shop so it was time to
install. Then we changed the orginal intake with a 1999 or newer so its
sort of horseshoe shaped instead of being squared off.

My 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L with a custom dual Exhaust I designed and built with a mechanic I
worked with at Chrysler, you won't find a split dual Exhaust for a cherokee online, we had to build a
heat shield around the gas tank to in order to run the pipes out the other
Jeep 4.7 Stroker Turbo Dyno Pulls
Newcomer Racing 4.7 Stroker turbo on the
Dyno in naturally
aspirated form for break-in and Dyno numbers. The 4.7 was
broke-in and ran with a 390 Holley, then for the last two pulls we decided
to try a 750 Holley to see if the 4.7 could take it and boy did it ever!
The power numbers were up all the way through the power curve we ended up
w/312.2hp@5400 and 330.5tq@4400. Dyno pulls were made from
2500rpm's thru 5500rpm's, it made over 300ft.lbs the entire rpm range. The
current Dyno numbers
are made by a Jeep 4.7 stroker w/ 8.43:1 compression, ported head and
intake, and a small custom turbo comp.
