Air Cooled VW Clearencing for Stroker Crankshaft

CB Performance - 2387cc Engine on the Dyno (made 210hp)
This is Jerry Miura's 2387cc Monster. Engine uses CB Performances #1187
Builder's Choice Engine Kit but with two changes: we used our #2288
camshaft and 9.5:1 compression to slightly de-tune the engine. This engine
also uses 51.5mm IDA carburetors, stainless 1-3/4" merged header and
MagnaSpark Crank Trigger Ignition. Engine produced 210 H-P at 6300 Rpm and
183 ft lbs of torque at 5000 rpm.

We began with a dual port 1600 cc engine from a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle.
The engine ran with a miss and was smoking a bit . After performing a
compression test,(both wet and dry) , we determined the crankshaft and
bearings were fine.
We replaced the pistons, pots & rings. We had the valves redone and made
several upgrades along the way.....
