Dinosaur Fun!
Click on the red annotation to watch in HD! Famous clips from a game called Dino Island! Like it! Comment! and Subscribe! This is one theme park that will never be extinct, letting you mix and match a kind-hearted stegosaurus with a terrifying T-Rex, give him horns and some teeth, and create a custom-made Dino Island resident. But be careful! One or two dinosaurs and a couple of rides don't necessarily mean colossal success. You have to manage the entire park, building and maintaining the dino enclosures, feeding them, and ensuring they are safe and comfortable. You also need to make sure your visitors are getting their money's worth, offering food, shelter and plenty of rest areas and finally, you have to take control of all the details, overseeing the budgets, planning the shows and making sure your restaurants and gift shops are frequent shopping stops. It's up to you to keep the crowds coming in... and the dinosaurs happy! [Strategy First] Kids will definitely enjoy building their own park and creating their own mutated dinosaurs down to the last detail and Dino Island allows them to do it all. [GameZone] Graphical scalability and an intuitive interface are heavily outweighed by poor graphics and sound, uninspired gameplay, and a lack of scientific information about the dinosaurs you are exploiting. [Gamer's Pulse] Has the potential to be a truly unique sim, but it's got the blocky aesthetics of an edutainment title, yet is too complex for junior to play on his own. [Computer Gaming World] The game has it all. Although the game can be complex, it never gets too tough to understand, even for the juniors. The graphics for the visitors are a little poor, but the dinosaur graphics are great. The controls are easy in use, although the mouse sensitivity is a little too high and cant be adjusted. This game is getting my full votes! [GydoK.] It's a Jurassic Park game except your programmer doesn't shut off fences. I played this game over the span of 8 years and never got bored of it. Big bad IGN and... 'Game Over Online'? Never heard of it. Anyway, stop being high and mighty. Especially IGN, yuck. [LordyLord] The kids loved it. This is the first game they played for months w/o getting bored. [Tony] Breeding dinosaurs What's most unusual about Dino Island is dinosaurs and the ability to create brand new species. In Dino Island, there are 20 pure, historical Dinosaur species, ranging from the classic Tyrannosaurus Rex to the lesser-known Troodon or the Giganotosaurus. Those dinosaurs are classified in 6 families: large carnivorous, armored quadrupeds, light bipeds, etc. The player can mix any two dinosaurs to create a new one. The resulting creature will be a genetic mix of its parents: it will inherit features from both of them, based on genetic dominance. Each dinosaur is made of many parts: legs, arms, head, etc. Each part of the resulting dinosaur will also be a mix between that of its parents. This is different from the game Impossible Creatures: in that game, while it is possible to cross animals to create new ones, the resulting creatures are just assemblies of original parts. For instance, the mix of a tiger and a pig would have the head of a tiger or that of a pig. In Dino Island, the mix of a Diplodocus and a Triceratops will have a head in between that of its parents. On top of that, some mutations can occur, either accidentally or, when the player masters the technology, voluntarily. Mutations include feathers, extra horns, weird scales, and the like.
