1997 Ford Aspire - The eggplant!
Say hello to my little eggplant! :)
These cars are phenomenal gas savers!
I stripped 100 pounds from car, improved fuel economy 7% to 33city/42
37-38mpg combined at every fillup
5 speed manual
AM/FM radio with cd player
All 4 tires have over 85% tread!
heater works well, car has no A/C (removed)
The car is quiet, no odd noises that many used cars have.
*** Brand new carpet - CLEAN interior!!! ***
The silver tube in the video is an added air intake, doubling the air going
into the engine improving fuel economy!
1994 Ford Aspire Tribute Video
I finally sold my 1994 Ford Aspire. I bought this car in 2007 when gas hit
the $4.00 mark in New Hampshire. I drove it all through graduate school
while I was self-employed and it saved my butt with its awesome fuel
economy. I never once felt like falling asleep when I drove this car. It
only made 63 horsepower but it was an
enjoyable ride. I sold it to my friend, who will hopefully take care of it
for the next few years.
Rallying a Ford Aspire
Accidentally went off-roading in a 1996 Ford Aspire 5 door. I thought one
road would lead me to another, but it ended up taking me on some pretty
rough terrain. This is only a small bit of the action.
The location is Coulterville, California, on Jackass Ridge I believe (Cuneo
A few notes on the car- Stock all around, 1.3L and 5 speed, and crappy
little half-worn 155/80/13 tires that are NOT made for dirt (These:
1995 Ford Aspire block put into 1990 Ford Festiva
I finally finished with the engine swap in my 1990 Ford Festiva. My old
Festiva engine had almost 300,000 miles on it and the seals were going
really bad, oil all over everywhere. I bought a 1995 Ford Aspire engine
and used the block only, switching out all peripherals from the Festiva and
putting them on the Aspire engine.
Junkyard Car: 1989 Ford Festiva L
Such a shame that this is in the junkyard. Some parts are hard to find for
these though unlike my Geo Metro that I owned. This car had 93,000 miles on
Ive always liked cars that are different or that you don't see too many
around anymore. These festivas fall in to that category. Surprisingly there
is a cult following with them, with a decent sized tuner community.
