283ci Chevrolet small block rebuild
this 283 had a complete overhaul. i replaced the camshaft with a summit cam .204in .214 ex duration .420 in .442ex lift The Edelbrock intake i bought off of eBay. all new valve train, the carburetor is so nice ran terrific. i like the trick summit dual feed fuel line with the gauge . you can tell when the fuel filter is getting bad with this thing on there. the heads are original 1965 power pack's this was a matching #'s engine the pistons are .040 over speed pro forged flattops,with stock rods, stock crankshaft. installed the the points style distributor is a pertronix ignitor, with a flame thrower 35,000 volt coil. Behind the double roller timing chain is a thrust bearing to help the cam rev smoother. all new bearings throughout. clevette 77 oil pump i sold it a year later for 1,500. the guy i sold it to says it still does not leak a drop of oil even after 4-5 years.

283 supercharged sbc .030 over, 12% overdriven, Rhs heads, Lunati solid flat tappet 632 lift, balanced, forged, two 600 holleys. Engine has to be partly taken apart later to be painted and finish polishing, just wanted to hear it, while I am getting my 57 chevy ready. I also have a 458 c.i. set up like this small block but gas will be a little cheaper besides this little fast reving sbc sounds really kool, I think I am going to like it. It goes through installing the crankshaft, checking for the right clearences using plastic gage, installing the rings on the pistons, installling the piston in the block, checking the rod bearing clearence, torquing all the bolts to the collect specifications, installing the rear main seal, and demonstrating how the motor works from the bottom view and top view.

Starting an old 283 chevy engine part 1
My son rebuilt this engine in highschool about 15 years ago. We put this in a 67 chev pickup and ran it till the truck rusted away. I junked the truck out and saved the engine. It was sitting in my shed in my way for about 5 years now so I decided to set it outside. So I'm starting it up before I tarp it up for now. Its got about 35,000 miles on it since the rebuild. It has a some what of a high lift cam in, but I don't remember what he put in it.

327ci chevy small block engine
1968 chevy small block, bored .030, new pistons, redone 2.02/1.60 heads (not double hump =[ ) all new bearings, new mild rv cam shaft and hydraulic lifters, new pushrods and roller tip rocker arms, polished crank, new timing chain and gears, new harmonic balancer, chrome timing chain cover, chrome valve covers, HEI distributor with transparent cap crappy chrome water pump that leaks (not permanent) holley 450cfm carb (not big enough as you can hear by) but it was given to me almost new and works for me. its leaking a little bit of oil out of the crappy cork oil pan gasket. this video would be longer but sadly i dont have enough gas, expect a longer video of it running in the future. har har look at my high performance altenator bracket and radiator stand and fan for cooling radiator...............traded this for an 82 dodge truck......... that i sold





My First Run With 1960 283cu. inch in a 1965 Chevy nova 2
I Pulled the inline 6 194 cu. inch. we put in a rebult 1960-1/2 283 cu. it has its original bell steal crank and forgded pistons flat top. federal berrings. i let the pro's ridge and hone the block. i put it together. steel oil shaft and big block pump. i re-routed oil pick up and using a morroso pan ,the heads are original too block, and have stainless steel valve's, harden seats, bronze guides. a sickle style alternator bracket. one belt. short water pump. Elderbrock Total Power Pack, lifters, head springs, cam, push rods, intake and carborator. the headers did'nt fit. so i used original mcdonalds manafolds, cherry bombs, and stainless steel pipes, police cruiser 78 caprice exhuast bend fits most gm cars lol. the gauges are on the engine's air filter. oil lines and fire walls cause oil loss. temp is a secondary ground when primary is shorted . amps shorts out thru dash and fire wall. put them on the engine and they will last for years and you dont have to go back n forth to read the gauges. original 3 on the tree manual transmition fresh clutches speacial order, yes thats a 67 chrome radiator. sweet.
