Subaru Isle of Man TT Record Attempt
Subaru of America, Inc. has released a new YouTube video of the 2011 Subaru WRX STI setting an all-time course record for the historic Isle of Man TT Mountain Course. The 5 minute 25 second video highlights in graphic detail the speed and drama surrounding rally driver Mark Higgins' lap that averaged 115.356 MPH. After the run, Higgins talks through the "moment" at Brey Hill when he momentarily loses, and then regains, control of the WRX STI at more than 150 MPH. Driving a US specification 2011 Subaru WRX STI, Higgins achieved speeds of 162 MPH and a lapped time of 19 minutes 37 seconds over the 37-mile track, navigating more than 200 corners. "This is one of the most daunting tracks I have ever driven, and the most terrifying," said Higgins, a Manx native. "We were only able to get two practice runs and on our second practice I had the biggest "moment" of my career. We had a passenger on the run and so coming into Bray Hill at more than 150 MPH, the extra weight compressed the suspension more than on previous runs and shifted the Subaru to the left and then right as I corrected--it was a real tank slapper. The whole thing went by so quickly that we never slowed below 110 MPH, and then we were back on the power. It was amazing and the helicopter shots really show just how hairy it really was." The WRX STI was a production US spec car running a standard 305 HP turbocharged boxer engine. Some safety modifications were made. The Subaru was equipped with a Lifeline fire suppression system, Hockley Motorsports roll cage, motordrive competition seats, Mintex brake pads (but stock calipers and rotors), and a louder open Exhaust to warn spectators of the on-coming car. The speed limiter was turned off to allow a higher maximum speed; off-the shelf Tien springs and dampers were added to accommodate the numerous high-speed jumps on the circuit, sending the WRX STI almost four feet off the ground. The car ran on street legal Pirelli P Zero Trofeo tires.

Launch Control: Higgins takes on Block at Rally in the 100 Acre Wood - Episode 5
Launch Control - Episode 5: David vs. Goliath Watch all episodes of Launch Control here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1MTbRON4T882S-XEFu3StytlAFShrF2M David Higgins and Craig Drew of Subaru Rally Team USA may be back-to-back champions, but at the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood, Ken Block has been king. A win here at round two for Higgins would rock the boat and shake things up for the rest of the series. But, an overnight storm in Missouri has dumped snow on the high-speed stages, placing the whole outcome into question. Can the teams keep it on the road in the treacherous conditions? Can Higgins and Drew get their first career win at this event? Produced by Formula Photographic Inc. This is everything it takes to win. This is everything that gets in the way of victory. High-speed ride with Subaru Rally Team USA's David Higgins at STPR 2012
Ride inside the cockpit and on the front bumper with David Higgins and Craig Drew in their Subaru Rally Team USA STI as they race flat out through the forest stages of Pennsylvania's STPR Rally. Watch more videos at www.subaru.com/rally Subaru driver David Higgins completed the biggest comeback of his career to finish second overall on the sinuous and technical dirt roads of Pennsylvania's 2012 Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally (STPR), round four of six in the 2012 Rally America National Championship. Higgins dropped over three minutes to the leaders after a mechanical problem struck his Subaru on the event's first stage dropping him down to 13th Overall. With his BFGoodrich-tires shod Subaru WRX STI fully repaired for STPR's second and much longer day of rallying, Higgins pushed hard and climbed the leaderboard, finding himself on the podium at the finish. The strong result retains Higgins' substantial lead in the 2012 Rally America Championship standings and puts him within a handful of points of securing his second straight Rally America crown with two events still remaining.

Launch Control: Higgins and Pastrana duel at the Oregon Trail Rally -- Episode 2.4
Launch Control - Season 2, Episode 4 - "Higher Grounds" Watch all episodes of Launch Control here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1MTbRON4T882S-XEFu3StytlAFShrF2M Follow the team on Twitter and Instragram @srtusa: http://www.twitter.com/srtusa http://www.instagram.com/srtusa With the first two events in the 2014 Rally America Championship complete, Subaru Rally Team USA has claimed two podium finishes; a win at SnoDrift Rally for David Higgins, and 2nd Place for Travis Pastrana at the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood. Now, the team's focus shifts to the third round of the Rally America Championship, the Oregon Trail Rally, where the goal is to get both Subaru team cars on the podium together. The Oregon Trail Rally was the second event back with the Subaru team for Travis Pastrana after over three years away from the sport. Pastrana has been getting up to speed with his new 2014 Subaru WRX STI while working for the first time with veteran co-driver Chrissie Beavis. The duo were clearly another step faster in Oregon and took the lead of the event early, winning three of the four stages held on day one. David Higgins and co-driver Craig Drew hit trouble early on the second day, dropping over a minute to Pastrana in the process. As Higgins began to charge back he was then hit with time penalties for hitting cones in a chicane, thus putting himself even farther behind Pastrana. Higgins found himself still nearly 40 seconds adrift of Pastrana at the start of the final day. Higgins and Drew had just six stages covering 40 miles to make up those 40 seconds and they went flat out to do so. The battle goes down to the final stages...who would emerge victorious in the battle of the teammates? Produced by Formula Photographic Inc. Climb - Pikes Peak Hill Climb with a Monster
Ride on the bumper of a screaming 910hp, Twin-turbo, All-wheel Drive, 150 mph Suzuki SX4 as it races up one of the world's most dangerous hills. An attempt by the "Monster" to break his own record of 10:01:41... COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (June 29, 2010) -- For the fifth consecutive time, Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima combined experience, skill and Falken Tires to claim overall victory in the 88th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Although he did not set a new Pikes Peak record, one day before his 60th birthday, Tajima continues to hold the current overall record for reaching the peak, beating hill climb veterans Paul Dallenbach and Rhys Millen in the Unlimited Class. He drove his new 910-hp Monster Sport Suzuki SX4 Hill Climb Special on Falken WildPeak A/T tires, the powerful new line of all-terrain, all-season tires Falken launched this past April. Following Exhaustive tests in a Japanese wind tunnel facility, Monster's 2010 Pikes Peak race car underwent extensive aerodynamic changes to better adapt to the modified road surface on the race to the clouds, which assumed a smoother tarmac and less gravel than last year. Thinning air ascending the mountain robs most motors of their power by 30 or more percent, but the increase in horsepower over last year's race car helped push the driver forward.
