2009 Toyota Tundra Review - Kelley Blue Book

FOR PRICING & SPECS ON THIS CAR VISIT: http://www.kbb.com/KBB/NewCars/Toyota_Tundra%20Regular%20Cab.aspx 2009 Toyota Tundra. The full-size pickup market has long been dominated by the Big Three, but the Toyota Tundra now has the power, size and ability to compete head-on with such heavyweights as the Ford F150 and Chevrolet Silverado. Although Toyota still does not offer the option of a diesel engine or a long bed on the Crew Cab models, the Tundras powerful 5.7-liter V8 and long list of beefed-up mechanicals make it a viable work truck. Toss in Toyotas legendary reputation for quality and strong resale, and the Tundra begins to make a lot of sense for those rugged individuals who actually use a pickup truck for its intended purpose. Big Trucks Duke it Out: Full Size Pickup Comparison
MORE FULL SIZE TRUCK COMPARO @ INSIDELINE.COM: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Comparos/articleId=147067?tid=e dmunds.il.home.photopanel..1.* We see it every Friday during our evening commute. A stream of vehicles choking the freeway, headed out to the Mojave Desert or the Colorado River for some well-earned weekend stress relief. The fun varies, from camping to dirt-bike riding to water-skiing. But the vehicle that invariably gets tasked with hauling the corresponding equipment is a full-size pickup truck. You know, like the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2009 Dodge Ram 1500, 2009 Ford F-150 or 2009 Toyota Tundra. Sure, we talk about the virtues of the minivan as a family hauler, and there are many. But the minivan stands no chance against a looming 25-foot camping trailer. And SUVs are easily flummoxed by motocross bikes and the need to carry their smelly gas cans (or anything that's remotely dirty, actually) in the vehicle's cargo area. There's nothing like a pickup, with its big bin in back that doesn't care what you toss into it. And the truck is sure to be around long after the full-frame SUV falls completely out of favor and descends into the three-row car-based sensibility that is the crossover.

Toyota Tundra SR5 2014 - Test Off road
The Toyota Tundra may have been the Motor Trend 2008 Truck of the Year, but the full-size truck enters the 2014 model year with reduced pricing on certain trims. The significantly refreshed 2014 Toyota Tundra will now carry a base price of $26,915 for a regular-cab rear-drive model with a 4.0-liter V-6. Toyota isn't going to leave the luxury truck market to GMC, Ford, Chevrolet, and Ram, though -- the 2014 Tundra Platinum and 1794 Edition will carry identical MSRPs of $48,315 in CrewMax form, with four-wheel drive and a 5.7-liter V-8. All prices include the $995 destination charge. Toyota claims that the 2014 Tundra lineup's prices are, on average, $263 lower than comparable 2013 models. The 2014 Tundra is offered in SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition forms, as a regular cab, double cab, or CrewMax. The double cab and CrewMax are offered with a bench or bucket seats in the front. Engines include a 270-hp 4.0-liter V-6 for the base SR trim as well as a 310-hp 4.6-liter V-8 for the SR and SR5 trims. Of course, the engine we'd pick is the 381-hp 5.7-liter V-8, which is offered on every trim from the SR to the Platinum and 1794 Edition trucks. The V-6 uses a five-speed automatic while the V-8s get a six-speed unit. Toyota Tundra SR5 2014 - Test Off road
