According to the BMW website the 135i Coupé accelerates from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.3 seconds, however Car and Driver magazine recorded 4.7 seconds for 0-60 mph acceleration, and a quarter mile time of 13.3 seconds at 106 mph (171 km/h). Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155.3 mph). Fuel efficiency is increased to 30.7 mpg-US (7.7 L/100 km; 36.9 mpg-imp), an improvement of 18% compared to its predecessor. 2007-10 model year BMW 135i coupe/cabriolet models were equipped with the N54 biturbo inline-6 engine, mated to a six-speed manual or optional six-speed "Steptronic" automatic transmission. For the 2011 model year onwards, the powertrain was changed to the N55 single (twin-scroll) turbo inline-6 (making the same horsepower and torque output), paired to a six-speed manual or optional 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The short-lived 1 Series M Coupe retained the N54 biturbo inline-6, albeit in a higher state of tune. The differential fitted to the 135i is the first in the world to use double-helical ball bearings. These bearings operate at a lower operating temperature (which can be reached more quickly), due to the reduction of fluid required in the differential. Special standard features of the 135i included adaptive xenon headlights, sport suspension settings, 18" wheels, high-performance brake system (6 piston front calipers with 338mm discs, and 2 piston rear calipers with 324mm discs), and a new DSC program that improves acceleration out of corners Camaro The SS with manual transmission is powered by the 6.2 L (6,162 cc or 376 cu in) GM LS3 V8 producing 426 hp (318 kW) at 5,900 rpm and 420 lbf·ft (570 N·m) at 4,600 rpm while the SS with automatic transmission is powered by a new variant of the LS3 called the GM L99 which produces 400 hp (300 kW) at 5,900 rpm and 410 lbf·ft (560 N·m) at 4,300 rpm. This new L99 V8, not to be confused with the earlier LT-series L99, uses Active Fuel Management which enables the engine to run on only four cylinders during light-load driving conditions, such as highway cruising, to improve fuel economy. Other features include a fully independent four-wheel suspension system, variable-rate power steering, four-wheel disc brake systems standard on all models (four-piston Brembo calipers on SS models), a StabiliTrak electronic stability/traction control system, Competitive/Sport modes for the stability system offered on SS models, launch control on SS models equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, and 6 standard air bags that include head curtain side-impact air bags and front seat-mounted thorax side air bags. An RS appearance package is available on LT and SS trim levels which include HID headlamps with integrated halo rings, spoiler, and RS-specific taillamps and wheels. Rally and hockey stripe packages were made available in several colors as well. Following the development of the Zeta architecture and because of its position as the GM global center of RWD development, GM Holden in Australia led the final design, engineering, and development of the Camaro. Production of the coupé began on March 16, 2009, in LS, LT, and SS trim levels. LS and LT models are powered by a 3.6 L (220 cu in) V6 producing 312 hp (233 kW) for the 2010 & 2011 model mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic with manual shift. The SS is powered by the 6.2 L (376 cu in) LS3 V8 producing 426 hp (318 kW) and is paired with a 6-speed manual. The automatic SS gets the L99 V8 with 400 hp (300 kW). The RS appearance package is available on both the LT and SS and features 20-inch wheels with a darker gray tone, halo rings around xenon headlamps, a unique spoiler, and red RS or SS badges.
