RE Amemiya factory - rotary heaven!

Completely focused on tuning rotary engine cars such as Mazda RX-7 and RX-8, RE Amemiya is known as the best Rotary tuner in Japan. Not only they are good at tuning RX-7 street cars seen on Touge Monster championship in HotVersion movies, they have attained glorious achivements in SuperGT as a racing team, and in D1 GranPrix. There is no other tuner in Japan doing SuperGT, D1, and street car tuning at the same time. The store is located in the suburb of Tokyo, only half an hour away from the Tokyo International Airport. At the store, they sell RX-7 and RX-8 in stock condition, tuned cars of "Greddy" brand, and individual parts. Their parking lot filled up with rotary engine cars is nothing but a "rotary heaven"! FEED RX-7 (Fujita Engineering FD3S)
Photos: https://www.facebook.com/JDM.clips Established on 1982, Fujita Engineering (or FEED) is now a 30-year old company. Yet, their passion for rotary motorsports is as hot as ever. The FD3S in this video was their new shop-car, built to become "the fastest street-legal RX-7". As a matter of fact, this car has already proven to be the fastest. On December 2011, it won the class championship of the country's hottest time-attack event "Tsukuba Super Battle". 3 months later, on March 2012 when this video was shot, once again Fujita Engineering was at Tsukuba Circuit to verify what they had been developing throughout the winter was correct. Under fine weather, brand new Advan tires, and having the right driver, the car marked 57.511 sec at the attack at end of the day - beating their own Super Battle record by 0.5 sec. Looks like Fujita Engineering RX-7 is going to win the time-attack again this year. Honda NSX Concept-GT
Photos: https://www.facebook.com/JDM.clips What if you are the only one who has the wrong tool to fight with, while everyone else has something right? This is exactly the situation Honda is about to face in the 2014 Super GT series. Chassis of DTM is purely designed for FR racing cars - a chassis destined to work when an engine is mounted on the front. But Honda will put engine on the rear to make it MR, and even add a racing hybrid system to it. Why do this? Most people think that Honda just wants to race with a vehicle of features that their new NSX will have. Well, that's not everything. The extreme kind of race cars, like the ones in Super GT or DTM, are almost never built over their production model cars. An engineer of Nissan in Super GT series says that the only real common part between GT500 GT-R and the production R35 is the "door knob". All other parts of the vehicle are mere imitation of the production model just to keep the resemblance. Race cars in these categories are created with completely different materials, developed by a different team, and built in a different factory. There almost nothing in common between the two cars. With that in mind, we are close to understanding what is Honda trying to do with this NSX Concept-GT. Mount an engine on the rear of FR chassis, add a hybrid racing system of their own, and still race trying to compete with others with better condition. The race is not actually about the car itself, but it is the place where manufactures and teams show their spirit of challenge, test their own ideas and skills, to prove who is the best in creating new things. If you are complaining about NSX Concept-GT having a 2.0L engine, or becoming smaller in size compared to HSV, you are only seeing the surface of this race. I recommend that you go see a production car race. It's true that currently Honda is lacking lineup of sports cars. But it's only about the production cars, and they have never abandoned their spirit in racing. After 2009 when they stopped producing S2000, they came up with HSV that does not exist anywhere in the world except on race track. They fought equally to Toyota and Nissan and won series championship. Now with the new NSX-GT in 2014, they will start a new story of challenge. Let's not just see "what they make", but also see "how they think" to improve their unique race car and fight against other manufactures. Hopefully in the near future, they'll produce a new sports car filled with that spirit. The Honda show is about to start!
