The MINI - A Celebration Of A Classic British Icon
The mini is, quite simply, the most popular British car ever built, and even more importantly, has become a classic British Icon.
This programme is a true celebration of the mini in every conceivable form. With the help of a dedicated group of mini enthusiasts, step back in time and discover the secrets of this much loved little car's success. Hear the story of the mini's development dating back to Issigonis' groundbreaking design of the late 1950's, right up to BMW's brand new MINI of the 21st Century, whilst enjoying a rare opportunity to see a whole host of mini's, up close and personal.
They say that anybody who remembers the 1960's couldn't actually have been there, so for anyone in need of a reminder, this trip down memory lane to the mini's glory years will be a nostalgic treat not to be missed. From the drawing board of Issigonis to the legend that now is the thoroughly modern MINI, this is great British design at its brilliant best, timeless, treasured and an inspiration.

Stuck in Time - Autoline 1530
Many agree that the auction house Barrett-Jackson has its grips on some of the greatest collector cars in America. But there's a large group of classic cars just 90 miles off the Florida coast that no collector -- try as they might -- has been able to buy...because they reside in the communist country of Cuba.
Since the U.S. embargo was enacted in the early '60s, no American products have been allowed either into the country, or out. And experts agree, sitting on that small island is a treasure trove of pre-1960 vehicles that many collectors would love to own.
During a trip to Cuba John McElroy captured the story of these incredible vehicles and their owners in a short Autoline documentary called "Stuck in Time" which begins this week's broadcast. John then follows that story with a trip to our studio with two men well steeped in the car collecting culture. McKeel Hagerty knows the value of cars like these since insuring vintage vehicles is part of his business at Hagerty Insurance. And Ken Lingenfelter of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has been collecting classic cars for years. This week on Autoline they join John to share their thoughts on Cuba, these unique cars and whether or not they'll ever make it off the island.

Buick - History Documentary (1995)
This video is a wonderfully-done documentary on the history of Buick as presented in 1995 from the History Channel's archive. Here is their description of the video verbatim:
"No one would have believed that the tinkering of a plumber would turn into the foundation of the world's largest corporation. But it did. David Dunbar Buick invented a process to adhere porcelain to tubs and other bathroom fixtures. But the Scottish immigrant dreamed of making a mark out of the bathroom, and set to work building a car. By 1900, he enlisted the aid of another inventor, Walter Marr, and they built their first vehicle. Their invention attracted the attention of one of Michigan's wealthiest men, William Crapo Durant, the president of the world's largest buggy-building business. As soon as he drove one of Buick's early creations, Durant realized that the days of the horse and buggy were over. He teamed up with Buick, and the two went on to make history. By the thirties, Buicks were regarded as some of the finest cars ever made. From the first Buicks through the birth of General Motors and into history, this is the compelling story of the partnership that eventually became the basis for the largest company in the world."

Ever since the world's first rally back in 1894, the sport has transformed from a simple test of cars into an entity that tests both cars and drivers on the limit.
In this short documentary, Ash Davies shows us how far the sport has come by looking into the performance and history of one of the great Rallying icons, the Subaru WRX STI.
With the help of RallySchool's Nathan Reeves, we find out what makes a modern rally car so fast, and how to drive it on the limit.

Last Classic Mini Coopers
Former BBC Top Gear and Wheeler Dealer director Jamie Langton is one of hundreds of journalists from around the world who witness the end of production of the worlds favourite small car. The following is a special feature highlight from Jamie Langton's new classic car DVD, Mini The Legend. On 4th October 2000 after 40 years of non stop (Follow on Twitter @JamieLangton) production, it was time to call it a day for the little car with several 'last of the line' Mini Cooper 500s poised to roll out forever on the production line. As the track started to roll out the last cars, 60s pop star Lulu sat behind the wheel of the very last example out to the awaiting press.
