Plenty of action in the Liqui Moly Burnout Championship at summernats 26. Tony D with YLDTOY was throwing fuel out the cap when it whipped around on the pad, and it didn't take long to light them up. It enough to DQ him.
I have no idea what's going on with the front end, it's almost like they decided to run without front shocks.
Summernats 26 - Day Five
Okay guys, sorry for the delay but I needed a short break to unwind after
Summernats and had to cach up on some much needed sleep.

UNLOAD On Fire Again!
Steve Loader flames up again at Mallala. But unlike some you can tell Steve
is trying to minimise the damage. It flames up, he stops and hope the
flames out out, then gives it another shot. Unfortunately this time it
didn't work and it flamed up every time he got on the gas.
SS Ute Puts the BURN in BURNOUT
Not sure what happened here, but something definitely let go in the fuel
system of this Holden ute because it went up in a big way in the Liqui Moly
Gotta love the firey stomping out the fire with an extinguisher in his hand
2000hp Torana Wins Horsepower Heroes
Jake Edwards goes back to back at Summernats 26 with another win in horsepower Heroes with
1666rwhp (and equates to over 2000hp at the flywheel). The car runs a 496ci
big block with a massive 106mm Garrett turbo with EFI and methanol. It has run 7.88 at
179mph on the quarter, so it's not just a Dyno queen.

ULEGAL Crashes Out Of The Liqui Moly National Burnout Masters
Mad Mick Brasher is a risk taker, there's no doubt about that. Sometimes it
pays off, sometimes it doesn't. Mick went into a series of his trademark
startline donuts but ended up getting caught in the smoke and giving the
wall a solid tap. Unfortunately this killed any chances of a top three
finish and Mick was awarded tenth place in the finals. It's a real shame
because the car looks amazing with the new paint and intake set-up.
Hopefully we'll see him at Kandos - no doubt it'll have a new paint job. :)
EVILXA - SUMMERNATS 26 LIQUI-MOLY NATIONAL BURNOUT MASTER 2013
Peter Grmusa reckons that Powerhouse Engines are the reason why he's had
such a good year on the burnout pad. The engine has been ultra-reliable and
trouble free which frees Peter up to concentrate on driving. And drive it
Peter smoked out a quality field of entrants to take the Liqui Moly
National Burnout Masters Trophy for 2013 and take home the $15,000 cheque.
With the rest of his wins this year he's up around the $40K mark in terms
of winnings. Well done Peter.
Summernats 26 - Day Four
The action was hot on and off the track today. My plan was to check out
lots more than I did on Day four at Summernats but with other duties I
ended up missing more than I got. Sorry about the lack of show cars, and
cruising etc. The rain certainly put a damper on the nights activities with
the PPG Supercruise being cancelled, but they still had the fireworks and
finished off with Rose Tattoo.
Summernats 26 - Day Two
Day two at Summernats didn't really kick off until midday with the Shannons
City Cruise down Northbourne where a good selection of cars cruised in
front of 30,000 people they reckon. Then the cruising fired up along with
judging and more scrutineering. Unfortunately the EPA knocked the schedule
around so we missed out on the burnouts, if there was any to be had. We
didn't hear or see any, but we saw plenty of tough rides. Tomorrow is going
to go off with burnouts, cruising, go-to-whoa, show 'n' shine, Dyno, the unveiling, Hilltop
Hoods and that Guinness World Record Attempt..
TOASTR Minivan Rolls At Summernats 26
It was all action at the Liqui Moly Power Pit on Friday with TOASTR falling
over during Qualifying for the Liqui Moly Burnout Championship.
As you can see the driver was okay, stepping out through the windscreen
area within seconds of it going over, and yes the gearbox exploded after
the van flipped on it's side raining carnage everywhere.
Summernats 25 Top Ten Burnouts
Here's the list that everyone has been waiting for, the Summernats 25 Top
Ten Burnouts. If you disagree, don't blame me, this is how the Sumemrnats
judges saw it.
Well done to those that finished in the top ten and better luck next year
to those that didn't. The field is getting tough out there.
SILLY - Third Place - Liqui Moly National Burnout Masters
Billy Seton's HQ was't even running when they took it to Summernats 26, and
he almost got DNF'ed when the steering coupling broke in Master Qualifying
but he stormed though the finals to score third place. It was a fairy tale
finish for the Junee tyre fryer and he's "Over the moon" with the result.
NUKINFUTS Gemini - How to get banned from Summernats!
All right guys, things got a bit heated yesterday and people started
posting personal details and threatening violence. I've never had to shut
down comments before, but I had to do it yesterday. I'm opening up comments
again, but keep it sensible please. If it gets stupid again, I'll shut it
down for good.
Okay guys, this is a very controversial topic. Here's the unedited footage
of the Steve Nogas incident.
What seems to have happened is that the driver Steve Nogas was told he was
disqualified for reason stemming back to his qualifying burnout (disobeying
a fire mashal), he forced his car through a group of officials and on to
the track, and after the burnout he was escorted from the track and his car
Could have been handled a little better from both sides, but forcing your
way on to the track is definitely the wrong way to go.
I've posted this video to provide a little clarity to the incident.

SUMMERNATS STATEMENT ON BURNOUT TRACK INCIDENT
11 January 2012
There was an incident at the burnout track on Sunday 8/1/12 involving
entrant Steve Nogas in NUKINFUTS. Steve was seen to forcibly drive his car
through officials who were instructing him not to drive at the time, and
then did an unauthorised burnout.
He was removed by security at the end of his drive and was immediately
given a life-time ban by management.
The incident was witnessed first hand by Summernats management including
The owners said "We made the immediate life-time ban decision for two
reasons. The first and most important reason was we saw a guy place our
burnout management team in great physical danger. We were very upset by
that. Second, we were furious that all our efforts to establish burnouts as
a legitimate motor sport could have been ruined in one moment. This is not
just about the Summernats. There are a lot of people out there who want to
see burnout events banned across Australia, and all competitors and event
promoters alike have a responsibility to protect this awesome sport."
Summernats management has reviewed both the incident and the punishment
post event, consulting the rules and taking submissions from burnout track
officials and the driver.
Following this process, the Summernats have revised their decision and have
released their official position.
"Steve Nogas' life time ban has been suspended on review. He is however
banned as an entrant from Summernats 26. As such, Steve is ineligible to
enter as a competitor at Summernats 26. However, the Burnout Chief Marshall
has invited Steve to make amends with the burnout crew and work alongside
them at Summernats 26. This will give Steve a better appreciation of the
issues facing officials managing this sport."
Summernats gave the following reason for the review.
"Our own assessment of the rules led us to the opinion there was no
explicit statement about life bans for such behaviour. As such, we felt it
was only fair to review the decision. We took into account the fact that
Steve has since been extremely apologetic about what he did and has
accepted complete responsibility for his actions. He has made several
public and private statements expressing his regret. We also considered the
intent of his actions. Whilst the consequences could have been severe, we
accepted Steve's statement that there was no intent or premeditation to his
actions. The one year ban is a consensus decision between Summernats
management and the burnout competition chief steward. Steve has gratefully
accepted this decision.
"The Summernats stands by the actions of our burnout crew. Our crew do an
incredible job under very trying conditions. Their primary mission is to
maintain the safety of competitors and the audience. Our burnout crew do a
superb job and should be commended for their professionalism.
"We have learnt important lessons from this incident, and Summernats will
be taking a number of measures to ensure this doesn't happen again."
Steve Nogas says, "What I've done there is totally out of character for me
and totally wrong for any entrant to do. I'm deeply sorry for the way I
Summernats management stated, "We want to be very clear. The only reason we
re-considered the decision was that our rules were not explicit on
life-time bans. Moving forward, the rules will be very explicit. If a
driver deliberately and maliciously ignores the instructions of officials
on the start line of the burnout pad placing them and the competition in
jeopardy, that driver will receive a life-time ban. Apologies after the
