2012 Nissan Sentra

The Nissan Sentra is getting a little long in the tooth, according to Cars.com Industry Analyst Kelsey Mays. Despite the car's age, there is still plenty to like, such as a spacious cabin and a responsive ride. But with a new Sentra just around the corner, what's the benefit of looking at this near-obsolete model?

The previous-generation Acura RDX was such a competent hauler that Cars.com Managing Editor David Thomas recommended one to his mother-in-law, and she ended up purchasing one. With a more powerful, fuel-efficient engine and richer-feeling cabin materials, he'd recommend the redesigned 2013 RDX, too, Thomas said.

Drivetrain: 5 yr./ 60000 mi. Roadside: 3 yr./ 36000 mi. Competitors: Dodge Dart, Ford Focus, Chevrolet Cruze, Volkswagen Jetta, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla What I have to say about the Sentra: Very great car from Nissan, obviously a huge improvement over last years model. Standard on the Sentra are LEDs in the front and rear, which makes the car way more stylish. The trunk is very spacious as well as cabin space and it is best in class. I almost felt if I was in a class above and my tester car came in at nearly $23,500 which is a pretty good value. Fuel economy is also very impressive with 30 City and 39 HWY: One gripe I do have is that i wish the SR Trim got a little more Power to it as it looks like its fast. All in all very great car from Nissan, I expect it to sell very well and it's no longer in the dark shadows of the Compact car segment.
