Here is a quick video of the start-up and rev of a stock 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7L 390HP Hemi. The stock muffler is a 26" monster and is pretty restrictive. The Exhaust note is very muted at all times. This is a very quiet truck in its stock configuration.
2013 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Straight Pipe
Immediately after purchasing my new Ram, I had the muffler removed and
replaced it with a Y-Pipe. Everything else is still stock, leaving the
resonators and catalytic converters.

2010 Dodge Ram 5.7 Hemi - Stock Muffler vs Magnaflow 18" Comparison
Just a comparison video on all the scenarios I wanted to see when I was
researching mufflers. I hope this will help people who are in need of help
like I was.
The stock muffler was cut out and a Magnaflow 18" was stuck in its place.
Single exhuast with factory resonator still in place.
To be honest, I wish the muffler was louder. At Idle, you can barely hear
it, and at WOT it sounds a lot like the stock muffler. I think only the
city driving sound has improved, as it sounds really nice taking off from a
stop at about 1/4-1/2 throttle. One thing to not overlook is that it DOES
drone. The reason I went with Magnaflow after all was because everyone said
it does not drone. I would've gone with the Flowmaster if I had known
But I am very happy with it overall. I'll give it a few months to see how
much louder it gets, and see if there is any better performance or MPGs
from the swap. So far, I can't tell. Here is a link to the exact muffler I
2004 Dodge Ram Hemi Slt 4x4 True Dual Exhaust
Here is my second video I' am posting. This is of my True Dual Exhaust with original flowmaster 40 series. The
camera picked up ok sound, but this truck is pretty loud and even louder
when you get in the higher speeds. It's just getting broken in. 2 cats, 2
flowmaser 40 series straight piped into long 3 1/2 inch tips. I was
thinking of running this straight pipe with no mufflers, but I already
bought them and like the sound, let me know what ya'll think. Il try and
get another video of the better sound.
2013 HEMI Ram 1500 Snowy & Muddy Off-Road Review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The new 2013 Ram Express Quad Cab 1500 pickup is
a big beast to drive off-road. In fact the HEMI 5.7L engine does little to
help the big Ram tackle the mud and snow. But of course the Ram's 4X4 drive
train and substantial ground clearance makes for a fine off-road ride. In
another exclusive TFLcar video review we take the newest Ram into the
Colorado Rocky Mountains to see how it does when the road get's snowy,
muddy and steep? Does the new Ram have what it takes to take on the
Rockies? Watch this fun and informative off-road review to find out.
Loudest Dodge Ram On the Planet
Lifted 97 dodge on 35s. it has a 9 inch suspension lift. has the 5.9 with
straights and 5 inch tips. very loud. idk whats wrong with the sound...if
you run it at a lower quality it should work right...and no thats not a
dash cap and no you cant order one..its a county boy custom.
2011 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi DynoMax VT Muffler
This is how a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew with the 5.7L 390 HP Hemi sounds
after I swapped the stock 26" monster muffler for the new DynoMax VT muffler. It is the
22" 3'" Single In / 2.5" Dual Out model # 17963. This muffler has what DynoMax calls "Valve
Technology" which is pretty quiet when at idle or at highway speeds, but
opens up at wide open throttle. It is really an improvement over the stock
muffler, but has the advantage of Zero Drone at Highway Speeds. At the time
of this video, the muffler has only been on the truck 24 Hours, and about
40 Miles. It should get a little louder with time after burn-in.
