Menzerna FG 400 Compound Removing Swirls
This is a video showing how well the new Menzerna FG 400 Compound cuts and
finishes out. I used this new compound on the custom basecoat/clearcoat
paint job of a very swirled-out 1964 Pontiac Catalina. There's two videos
I took, the first one is using a Lake Country Hydro-Tech Cyan Foam Cutting
Pad with the FG 400 to a section of paint on the trunk lid. I made 8
section passes over each side of the trunk lid. I then wiped off the
residue and took video showing the results.
Next I switched to a more aggressive foam cutting pad, an Orange 6.5"
Hybrid pad and re-compounded the section I previously buffed PLUS the
section I didn't buff plus all the horizontal panels surrounding the trunk
lid and then took the second video.
The results were 99% defect removal with only a few random, isolated
deeper scratches remaining, these of course are called RIDS.
I'm stopping at this point and next will finish compounding the vertical
panels, then polish with Menzerna SF 4000 and then apply the Chemical Guys
Black Wax for a show car finish.

Sehr Performance Machine / Randi's 400 Pontiac
Randi came to us with a 400 Pontiac project for his 1968 Firebird. He
didn't want to go crazy on the build but he wanted something that would
give him performance that is better than original.
With that goal in mind Scott did some custom porting on his heads, upgraded
his valve train and went with a Custom COMP cam and lifters and aluminum
roller rockers. We maintained his complete original rotating assembly but
had to re-balance his crankshaft, it had been poorly balanced sometime in
the past and was out by 127 grams on one end and 181 grams on the other. A
single plane intake with a 780 Quick Fuel carb got it breathing and the
fire is lit with a Flamethrower ignition package. Custom cut and fitted
8mm plug wires are standard equipment here at Sehr. Headman custom coated
headers will be added at installation time.
The results were a satisfying 543.5 Hp @ 5500rpm and torque reading of
519.8 @ 5400rpm. Corrected to sea level the numbers are 577 Hp and 551 Tq
with nearly 400 lb of torque at 3500rpm.

Removing my Chevy 350 motor and tranny from my '72 El Camino
Yanking out my 350/th350 from my '72 El Camino. Everything was prepped
before hand - radiator pulled out, headers/spark plugs removed, power
steering unbolted and bungeed, ignition taken out, motor mount bolts
removed, driveshaft taken out, crossmember removed, tranny jacked and
prepped. This is the end product of the heart transplant. A 454/th400 will
be soon be installed and roaring.
Splitter's 541 Inch Pontiac Engine V8TV
http://www.v8tvshow.com - We turned to the Pontiac pros at Butler
Performance for insight on building Splitter's street / strip / road course
engine. This one has to do it all, so the parts need to be carefully
chosen to get the job done. David Butler takes us through the parts and
explaines his choices.
