DETROIT -- Chevrolet displayed the all-new 2012 Sonic at the North American
International Auto Show. Its youthful, aggressive design is backed by turbocharged performance and agile ride and
handling, combining to deliver an efficient, fun-to-drive small car.
The Sonic is offered in two body styles: a stylish four-door sedan and a
sporty five-door. Each delivers class-leading rear-seat roominess and cargo
space. A variety of connectivity features enhance the driving experience.
"The all-new Chevrolet Sonic blends the practicality of a small car with
the passion for driving that Chevrolet vehicles like the Corvette are known
for," said Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. "Its
combination of great design, fun driving experience and the latest
connectivity features create a serious competitor with a fun spirit."
Production of the Sonic begins later in 2011 at the General Motors Orion
Assembly Center in Michigan, which received a $545-million investment in
upgrades and retooling, and will help restore approximately 1,000 jobs in
the metropolitan Detroit area.
"Chevrolet is the only company building a small car in the United States,"
said Perry. "We believe the Sonic will bring substance to the segment, with
progressive styling, performance and value that will change perceptions of
what a small car can be in America."

What Camerons Car Reviews has to say about the 2013 Sonic: Chevrolet is
starting to prove to other Japanese automakers that they are not messing
around anymore. This can be applied to the Sonic a car that was once a
cheap Aveo has now gone upmarket with much technology and a sporty
character that couldn't be said with the Aveo. Inside you will find it to
be very unique with a fun character on the interior and comfortable seats
as well as a futuristic touchscreen. The Aveo comes in a hatchback or a
sedan. All in all great car from Chevy, but can it handle the competition
from the hot selling Honda Fit and Ford Fiesta. We think so.

2014 Ford Fiesta vs Chevy Sonic Turbo vs the Ike Gauntlet Mashup Review ( Part 1)
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2014 Ford Fiesta and Chevy Sonic turbo are small economy cars that almost directly
compete. Of course the difference is that the Fiesta is normally aspirated
while the sonic has a small turbo. How
does this effect a cars performance when the road gets steep, the altitude
get hight and the car is loaded to the rafters with with people? From
Dillion, Colorado to the Eisenhower Tunnel U.S. I-70 climbs 8 miles to a
maximum elevation of 11,158 feet or 3,401 meters. That's enough elevation
and grade to test a small economy car like the 2014 Ford Fiesta and the
Chevy Sonic turbo.

2014 Chevrolet Sonic RS 1.4L Turbo Test Drive Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/chevrolet/sonic/2014/?id=32972 The Chevrolet Sonic
should be on your shopping list for a couple of reasons:
1) The car is very cheap with a starting price of $14,170
2) It is one of the few small cars actually built in America
3) The Sonic drives and handles well
4) The car is very safe with 10 airbags
On the inside the Sonic is cheeky and playful. The instrument set-up is
unique combining both analog and digital gauges. The brushed silver trim
and fake suede is nice enough. The driver's compartment is roomy and easy
to see the road. The basic Sonic engine is a naturally aspirated 1.8 liter.
But this Sonic RS has a 1.4 liter ECOTEC turbocharged 4-cylinder which is peppy and eager.
The Sonic puts together some great ingredients resulting in a very
satisfying overall experience. This RS model starts at $20k after all is
said and done.
