5:30 am to 8:30 pm... 15 grueling hours of labor, no breaks, no food, tons of issues but it's over. I've given birth to a gecko green Karmann Ghia. Thanks to everyone for their help on this project. It means the world to me.
Karmann Ghia - Sound Insulation Install
I was planning to install carpet today, started by installing the
insulation and was suckered into completing the heating system... Bad
news, no carpet got installed, good news, the duct work is complete and a
few oddball items have been checked off the punch list.
Painting the VW Engine Tins
Painting up all the additional pieces of engine tin that I need to make the
engine install complete. Hit the blasted tins with etch primer, 2k sealer
and base coat. Matte clear will be ready to squirt tomorrow.

VW Karmann Ghia - TMI Carpet Kit Install - Part 1
I made HUGE progress on the interior of the Karmann Ghia today. I got the
heater channel "Y"s welded in, I got the kick panels made, I got the
windlace (s) made, I got the windlace retainers striped and painted, I got
the rear seat area covered in vinyl and I got a fair amount of the carpet
kit from TMI installed.
VW Karmann Ghia - FIRST DRIVE!!!!
OH YEAH!!! After 18 years of cutting, grinding, welding, filling, sanding,
sanding, sanding, priming, painting, buffing, fixing, wiring, trimming,
sweating, cussing, smiling, crying, talking, screaming, farting and
everything else it takes to dismantle and restore a car, the Karmann Ghia
moved again for the first under it's own power. The feeling? AWESOME!!!
