350 Chevy Blower Motor Startup
This is a blown 357 cubic inch small block Chevy engine. I have built several engines over the years, but, this is my first blower motor. It is a .040 over bore, 1987 block with World Products cast iron heads, flat top pistons, 9 to 1 compression. The blower is a large displacement 6-71. On top are two 1850-3 Holley carbs. They have been specially modified to work on top of a blower. It has a Kuhl 20% under drive and produces 6 pounds of Boost at 5000 RPM's. Ignition is an MSD 6AL triggered by a high performance distributor with a magnetic pickup.Coil is an MSD HVC. This is a very streetable blower setup that runs on 93 octane pump gas.





Investigating Chevy 305 burning oil at idle
[[UPDATE: after wasting money on valve stem seals without fully investigating what the issue definitely was, i finally took off the right side valve cover which has NEVER been taken off..i found the the rear oil drain hole (theres 2, 1 in the front 1 in the back of the head) was plugged with fiber which is from the 10 year old air filter i had been using..so basically the ENTIRE valve cover was filling with oil force feeding oil into the cylinders. Goes to show, routine maintenance is not a joke..i figured an air filter is an air filter, but i guess not lol.After 10 minutes of idling the Exhaust will start making blue smoke and it looks kinda like "Uncle Buck" lol. It VERY rarely smokes when i drive, only when i take off.

1976 Corvette Stingray Comp Cams Thumpr - Spintech mufflers - Edelbrock E-Street heads
Here is part 3 of the restoration and now modification of the engine on my Corvette Project. A walkaround with idle rpm at 1000 in park and around 600-650 in gear. Vacuum is 7 hg and the base timing is 25 degrees with the vacuum advance capped off and mechanical running around 20 degrees for a total of 44.5 on my timing light. At 2:45 sec in the video I was trying to show the vacuum canister mounted on the frame under the brake Booster. If you end up getting a thumpr cam and have power brakes make sure you get a canister, with the can the brakes work the same as with the stock 17 hg of vacuum I used to have. The new additions are: Edelbrock E-TEC 64cc aluminum heads (#5089) Comp Cams - Thumpr cam and lifters (#12-600-4CL) Comp Cams High energy pushrods Roller Tip rockers (Summit racing) Double roller timing Chain Milodon high volume water pump Milodon high volume thermostat (160 degree) Prostreet Harmonic Balancer Edelbrock high volume fuel pump Maradyne Electric fan and thermostat control. Mufflers are Spintech Sportsman Street Comp Cam Vacuum Canister (#5200) IGGEE.com Synthetic Leather Seat covers (A++) Transmission is a TH350 with stock convertor and a B/M shift kit set for Street/Strip The rear gear is 3:08 It can really use a 2400-2600 stall converter and 3:55 to 3:70 gears. All in all it's a good sounding cruiser with nice highway acceleration though light hopping I haven't had a chance to try but without a convertor there isn't much of a holeshot. My 1957 Pickup with my 305 HO motor just finished and taking it on its maiden voyage...very short due to running open headers and NOT wanting to go to the jailhouse. More to come when I get my mufflers on I will upload how it sounds. Just finished building motor...has a comp Mutha Thumper series cam in it.





1976 C3 Thumpr Corvette Stingray - Spintech Sportsman 3000 XL Plus mufflers - Comp Thumpr Cam
Part 4 some part swaps. New Spintech mufflers and a big Thanks to Ron at spintech for recommending them and getting them built so quickly. Great tone with enough reduction in volume to make the car more enjoyable around town. I also took the 600 double pumper off and installed a Holley 80770 Street Avenger 770cfm carb and what a difference that made, now the car responds really well. I also installed an aluminum radiator since the car was trying to run at 200 degrees with our cooler weather I knew summer would be brutal. The new radiator has cooled things down by a good 20 degrees. I picked up a Mallory Hyfire IV ignition box and increased the jet size in the primary and secondary and the car just keeps getting better.
