This is the complete 1973 Z1 900 Daytona records video.."SO FAR SO FAST."
The Z1 shattered the 24 hour World Record with an average speed of
109.641mph plus 45 other speed records. The #2 bike used in this video is
kept at KMC in Irvine California their Heritage Museum, and is in the same
condition as it was in 1973. Several photos of it can be seen at this

Seafoam 1980 Kawasaki KZ1000 G1 Z1 Classic Fuel Injection
This is model was the first mass production motorcycle and only built for
one year. The serials run from 500004 - 503205, that leaves 3,201 units.
Fuel Injection technology was just beginning and the electrical components
of this model used to fail being impossible to get replacement parts even
from Kawasaki. Many of those broken bikes were converted to Carburator
using Mikuni or Keihin carbs. I have the luck to run into this EFI
running Z1 Classic with aprox 20k miles and super clear papers.
The main issues she has was a fuel pump relay (replaced) that was getting
stuck draining the battery, the idle rpms needed a running and sometimes
when full opening the throttle she would die.
Seafoam in the fuel and vacuum line, helped a lot to get a smoother idle
and now she won't die at full throttle
As the engine is running almost fine no major maintenance will be done
1974 Kawasaki Z1 Dragbike in 1985 "Old Zs Never Die!"
This is a 25 yo (1985) VHS video of my old Z1 making a 9.54 pass. This is a
7-time National Record Holding Z1. All-time bests are 9.39 @ 138 in the 1/4
and 5.87 @ 116 in the 1/8th. I bought this bike new in March of 1974 and
still own it today. (2010) There isn't/never was a turbo, Nitrous,
big-block, slider clutch, tach, shiftlight, 2-step or any other such
garbage on this bike. Strictly "seat of the pants". The motor was built by
Mark McIntosh of M&M Racing Louisville Ky in 1978. It is 1045cc with 31mm
CR carbs and carried 640# in it's record settng form.
Haters,Squids,Stunters or most Hardly/Zuki Lovers will not be able to
appreciate this motorcycle or the era in which it was created. It can't do
"Stoppies", I don't "stand on the seat" and "Wheelies" are limited by the
bar set-up. "It is what it is": A historic example of a record setting
"Modified" of it's era and preserved exactly as it was in 1986. Old Zs
