The car is confirmed for a reveal on July 11 but won't reach showrooms until 2018. It will arrive as a 2019 model. The new A8, the nameplate’s fourth generation, is the first model to be styled under the guidance of Marc Lichte who took over the design reins at Audi in late 2013. He’s already previewed the new look with the series of Prologue concepts, which, judging by our latest spy shots and video, the new A8 will closely resemble. The size of the vehicle isn’t changing much compared with the current A8, though the nose looks to be a little longer. Under the new sheet metal is the latest evolution of Audi's MLB platform, which is destined for a number of Audi models and even some from Volkswagen, such as the new Touareg. The latest MLB platform made its debut in the 2017 Q7 and brings significant weight savings and compatibility with alternative powertrains. The basic engine lineup should be similar to the current A8’s offerings, meaning V-6 and V-8 units. A W-12 is also likely to be offered once more, and we should see a plug-in hybrid option and possibly even a battery-electric option later in the life cycle. Some models are also likely to feature an electric compressor, particularly diesels. Don't expect any diesels to be sold in the U.S., though. There will also be loads of new technologies to aid the driver. For example, the new A8 will be the first Audi capable of handling some situations in full self-driving mode. It will be able to handle parking situations as well as driving in traffic at speeds of up to 37 mph thanks to a new feature called Traffic Jam Pilot. Other advancements should include a new infotainment system with gesture control, plus new lighting technologies including organic LEDs in the taillights. Also in the works is the sporty S8 variant, spy shots for which can be seen here. "Mercedes S-Class BMW 8 Series, 7 Series New 2017 Test Drive interior New 2017 Test Drive" "SUBSCRIBE NOW"

Quick Shifting vs. Powershifting
BEFORE YOU COMMENT : -The purpose of this video is only to show the difference between quick shifting and powershifting. -Constructive comments are welcome. -Stop whining about the shape of the transmission. I don't drive like that all day everyday, and it still shifts like butter (must be done properly though). -Whining about the position of my hand on the steering wheel is also irrelevant. I usually drive with both hands on it, but during the making of the video I happened to let one hand on the shifter because I felt like it (multiple shifts on a short time). -Thanks for watching and let the VTEC kick in, yo ! VIDEO DESCRIPTION: Quick lifted shifts vs full throttle powershifts. Powershifting means that you never leave your foot off the gas while shifting. Also added some rev matching near the end.

How to shift without the clutch (clutchless shifting)
READ THE DESCRIPTION FIRST PLEASE. I am not responsible for anything that happens to your car if you try this. I actually do not recommend doing it but its nice to know. Many people seem to be getting the wrong idea for this video. I am NOT telling you to not to use your clutch. This video is just to show how to shift without the clutch if the time comes when you need to use this. If your clutch goes out you might need to use this. This technique is potentially hazardous to your car. So if youre going to post a comment about how bad it is and just use the clutch, please dont post a comment. Some people want to know how to do it and that it is possible. I AM NOT TELLING YOU TO DO THIS OR TO NEGLECT YOUR CLUTCH. I KNOW HOW TO SHIFT WITHOUT THE CLUTCH, IT DOES NOT MEAN I DO THIS WITH EVERY SHIFT I DO. IN FACT I HAVENT DONE THIS SINCE I MADE THE VIDEO. The car is a mini cooper S 2005 with the stock Supercharger. Yes the audio is slightly off when i created the video but o well. The cameras i used were a vholdr contourHD 1080p for the rear camera, and 2 canon powershots for the tachometer and feet. This is kinda hard to learn and bad for your car when you mess up so practice at your own risk!
