Is It Numbers Matching? - Cougar by the Numbers
In this video we delve into the complex topic of decoding tags, date codes,
and other numbers to check if your classic Ford / Mercury is "numbers
matching," using Don's newly acquired '69 Mercury Cougar XR7 428 Cobra Jet
convertible as an example. While we haven't covered the subject 100% in
this video (to keep it concise) we think this covers most of the major
components and gives you the knowledge you need to figure out what your
numbers mean. As mentioned in the video, we highly recommend Marti Auto
Works, especially his Tagbook, which made this video possible. Visit him
at http://www.martiauto.com , and for everything Cougar, visit us at

67-68 Cougar Buying Guide: What To Look For
In this video, Don does a detailed inspection on a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7
to show some of the things you should look for when buying one of these
classic cars. Some of the insight here can potentially save you hundreds,
even thousands, when you go to negotiate with a seller. Also, it will help
those of you trying to sell, to more accurately advertise the strengths and
weaknesses of your car.
We've also done a similar video with a 1970 Cougar convertible, so you may
want to check that out too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fizb2vo68vA

Front Suspension & Chassis Upgrades - '68 Cougar / Mustang
In this video, we show some of the ways you can easily stiffen your car's
chassis and upgrade your front suspension. Using Andrew's '68 Cougar as a
guinea pig, we bolt on, and weld on, some simple parts that will make a big
difference in reducing the torsional flex that these front ends are prone
to, as well as improving the integrity of the shock towers.

1978 Mercury Grand Marquis Video 1 Owner 6.6L 400 V8 Classic Youngtimer Lincoln Town Car Ford Sedan
78 Mercury Grand Marquis 312,000 Miles Near Mint 1 Owner 6.6L 400 Big Block
Classic Youngtimer http://www.1ownercarguy.com This is a very cool car.
Usually I like cars with really low miles but this car is sol cool because
it has 312,000 original miles on it and runs like a newer car. This is only
a 1 Owner Car and yes the miles are actual. The previous owner drove the
car back and fourth from Canada to California. You would never guess the
miles by looking at the car. The factory baby blue paint is in great shape
and has a very nice shine to it. The factory white vogue top looks great on
the car and is in about as good of shape as you will find. The body is
straight as can be and the paint is original. It has the 6.6L 400 engine
that fires right up and runs great. It has been rebuilt along with many
other things on the car. I talked to the mechanics that worked on the car
and they remembered the guy and how good he took care of his car and really
liked it. You would have to really like a car to put that many miles on it.
The car feels and handles like a newer car and just floats down the road.
The interior is in mint condition along with the rest of the car. Only the
drivers seat shows minimal wear. It looks like he was the only one that
made the trips because none of the other seats look like they hardly ever
got sat in. Everything about this car is just clean as can be. You won't
find another car like this.

The V8 Interceptor [S4 Ep.11-1]
One of the most popular cars of the Muscle car era... the Mercury Cougar...
has been one of the most overlooked cars in recent decades. Today on GEARZ
all of that changes as Stacey rolls in a solid '67 Cougar... dubs it the
"V8 Interceptor"... and begins to completely change the front suspension to
get rid of the stock shock towers and turn this little old lady's car into
a corner-carving, road-gripping beast. But wait!... you can't cut out the
shock towers can you!?! Yes you can!... and Stacey goes in-depth on not
only how to do it, but also the installation of a complete TCI independent
front suspension. If you own or want to own a classic Mustang, Cougar, Fairlane, or other
60's Ford, and have always wished you could get rid of those stock shock
towers to get more room in the engine compartment, this is the show for
The V8 Interceptor Paint & Body [S6 Ep.13-3]
Everybody knows that 80's and 90's cars are hot right now, and one of the
most desirable is the Fox bodied Mustang because it's cheap and offers
incredible bang for the buck. Today on GEARZ, Stacey rolls in a 1990 Mustang cop car and shows how
easy it is to pull out an automatic tranny, and stuff in a Tremec 6spd so
you can shift the gears properly. Then it's off to the Hot Rod Institute in
South Dakota to see the paint and body work that the instructors and
students have been doing to the V8 Interceptor. If you thought this '67
Cougar was wild before, wait 'til you see this show! Here
Classic Cougar Pickin' with Scott Taylor (Part I)
On our trip to AZ, we paid a visit to Scott Taylor to have a look at his
collection of Cougars. Scott is a well-known Cougar enthusiast, is the
registrar for 428 Cougars, and has a sizable collection of classic Mercury
Cougars. Many of his project cars are for sale (most of the cars shown in
this video). If you have questions about these cars, or have any
information on a newly discovered 428 Cougar, email Scott at
