Here is the awesome Thunder Race during the March 2011 NASA event at Road Atlanta. There are two Viper SRT-10s, a Ferrari 360 Challenge, a 997 GT3 RS and many more cars racing through turns 10a and 10b.
4x Mercedes-Benz SLS AMGs
Here is an incredible sight to see: four SLS AMGs, along with two CLK 63
AMG Black Series, surrounded by many other AMGs, including another SLS
under a cover, a third CLK 63 AMG Black Series on the other side of the
building, and a Lotus Elise! Lots to see in this video! :)
These AMGs are used for the AMG Driving Academy at Road Atlanta.
Damaged BMW i8 with broken suspension!
I recently saw my first i8: this damaged example which had found it's way
into a curb or a very severe pothole! Look at the damage to the wheel and

NASA SE June Jam 2011 Saturday Thunder Race
After leading the Saturday ST2 race at Rd Atl, I had a Mustang running me really hard any
chance he got close in traffic. I didn't really understand why he was doing
that, but had a good time racing with him anyway. He managed to get by me
twice in the race in traffic, but I was able to get back around him both
times and pull away with ease. With 2 laps to go in the race, I had an ABS
failure that caught me by suprise in T7 and nearly threw it off track. The
Mustang went around and I
tucked him behind him deciding not to race with him any longer and put it
on cruise control since I had such a big lead on the rest of the guys in my
Here's the good part. It turns out that he was in my class all along and I
didn't even know it (no class stickers on his car). I placed 2nd.

NASA Southeast Sprint Race 2 @ Road Atlanta, June 2011, #350 PTA/ST2 350Z
Sprint race 2 with NASA SE. I ran ST2 since there were 14 cars in that
class and no one in PTA. My Z is 80whp low on what is allowed for ST2 and
it was a Corvette dominated race group, so I had my work cut out for me!
Til this race weekend, I had not driven at Road Atlanta in 3 years so I was
way off from the front runner pace. Despite that, it was a great weekend of
close and clean racing. This race was cut short after a full course caution
due to several cars with mechanical issues breaking down at the same time
so we ended up finishing the race under yellow. I finished this race 12th
overall, 9th out of 12 in class. Best lap was a 1:41.7,

A great time with friends and competators. Was down on good tires but great
fun pushing the truck at it's adhesive limits. Wanted to keep up with the
66 truck but its grunt was just too much. Not too mention the Blue Mazda GT
again blocked me and I almost did a loop in that very same corner with him
several months ago! Got some good vid of my friend John and his well sorded
Porsche and a very tight white rotary.

Just some clips I took while at the 12hrs of Sebring in 2011. These cars
are so addictive. Wish I got more audio from the paddock area before the
race but I was sleeping in my car. Oh well....there is always next year.
NASA VIR LapDance - Sunday Race - 20-Feb-11
"Graduated" from NASA CompSchool on Friday, this is video from my second
race on Sunday at VIR. Race Class was GTS3 in the Thunder race group.
Qualified P2 but a couple "rookie" mistakes during the first 3 minutes of
the race landed me in 6th place. Fought my way back to 3rd learning a lot
about managing traffic, being patient, tire management and focus.
