Shows the cartoon Roadrunner character being chased around the showroom floor of a Plymouth Dealer by the Coyote while showing all the Plymouth cars for the year while the announcer talks about the big Plymouth sale going on now. but seems to focas more on the Roadrunner and Barracuda cars in the commercial.
Triple Black Attack: 1970 440 6-Pack 'Cuda - BIG MUSCLE
Each and every muscle car enthusiast has that one experience that has helped define the way in which they view the automobile. For Northern California's John Cross that experience came by way of riding in the back of his cousins 1970 440 6-Pack Plymouth 'Cuda when he was a kid. It was a car that provided him with memories, stories and of course, a goal - that being, to one day own the very car which got his engine running all those years ago. It's now 2012, 42 years after that first faithful ride in the very 'Cuda you're about to see. This time however it resides in John's garage, not his cousins, which can mean only one thing... Sometimes dreams do come true.

You are looking at a beautiful 1967 Barracuda convertible.
This car has been restored. The paint is absolutely gorgeous over a very solid steel body. West Coast vehicle.
This is 1 of 4,228 Barracuda convertibles.
History: The Barracuda became a true pony car in 1967. The Barracuda was redesigned on a new, longer wheelbase and offered a choice of V8s, two 273 cid V8s and a new 383 cid V8. The Slant Six engine was officially dropped. Unfortunately, the 383 engine was so large that the power steering pump couldn't fit under the hood, so it was unavailable -- which resulted in poor handling. The original fastback model was now joined by a notchback and a convertible model. The Formula S option package was still available and added a heavy duty suspension, tachometer, Wide-Oval tires, and special emblems and trim.
Production:
2D Hardtop Coupe: 28,196
2D Fastback: 30,110
Convertible: 4,228
The Drivetrain is not original it has a 340 4 speed which is an absolute pleasure to drive.
I can not fault the car for anything it is not a trailer queen but a great summer cruiser.
It runs and operates great as you can see in our youtube video. The drivetrain is like new.
The top is new goes up and down great. Very solid trunk and floor pans. You will not be disappointed with this gorgeous car. Give me a call today with any questions.

If you look up Vanguard Motor Sales in a thesaurus, one of the first words you might find is "Mopar". That's because we've spent the few years bringing Mopar fans the greatest array of exceptional cars ever offered for sale. This stunning purple Supercharged 1968 Plymouth Barracuda continues that tradition and presents you, the serious collector, with yet another chance to expand your collection.
This Cuda went through an extensive restoration in 2007. The solid metal body is straight, clean and rust free. There is no bondo, no waves and no ripples. After all that hard work, the car was sprayed with its beautiful purple metallic paint. The result is a fantastically straight Cuda that looks like it could have rolled out of Dodge Main yesterday. Panel gaps, door and trunk lips and margins are exceptional, the doors and trunk open and close with very little effort and the cars deep purple metallic paint has little to no defects or wear. All of the chrome and stainless is equally as nice.
The first thing you will notice under the hood is that Paxton Supercharger, attached to the 340ci motor. The casting number on the motor is 2780930-340. Turnbuckle ties are holding this baby down. Once you get past that sweet looking Supercharger, you will see that this Cuda also is wearing a MSD Ignition, a remote oil filter, breather canister and an Optima battery. There are coated headers as well. Make no mistake; this car runs just as well today as it did when it rolled into the dealership in 1970 and it's one of the few muscle cars that can still run with the best from Detroit.
The bottom of the car has been well taken care of as well. Matched up to that 340 Supercharged motor, is a 4-speed transmission, which shifts awesome. The casting number for the trans is 99129, and there is another stamp with # 9B327429. There is a posi-traction rear end, with what we believe to be 3:50 gears. There are some minor repairs in both driver side and passenger side rockers and one small patch on the floorboard, all of which have been done extremely well. There is no rust to be found, the undercarriage of this Cuda is solid! A new stainless steel gas line and new gas tank were included in the restoration, as well as a Flowmaster Exhaust system (2.5" out back and 3" feeders). Cross drilled rotors and front disc brakes keep this Cuda between the lines. The upper control arms are tubular, there are new spindles and eurethane bushings on the radius arms. The front fenders have no signs of repairs, they look to be original metal. Sitting on all four corners are 17" Billet wheels and BF Goodrich G-Force tires.
Inside the car has been completely restored and features beautiful white upholstery, and headliner. Sitting between the bucket seats is a beautiful console and Hurst shifter. In front of the driver is a stunning wood Grant steering wheel and a set of Auto-Meter Pro-Comp Ultra-Lite gauges. In the center of the dash there is a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo system, which sounds great, and underneath that is a duo of aftermarket gauges. All of the interior lights work and the black carpet is in beautiful shape. The fold-down back seat gives plenty of extra storage for your cooler and folding chairs. This car is ready for a summer cruise, and the local car show!
This is a rare, Supercharged 340 Cuda that is 100% complete inside and out. Nothing has been left unrestored and the Cuda is guaranteed to please even the most discerning collector, as a center piece to any Mopar or classic car collection. Call today! We are available 7 Days a week 248-974-9513

1968 Plymouth Barracuda 426 Hemi Under the Hood
www.e-motorclassics.com Hemi Engine History
A Chrysler Hemi engine is one of three different internal combustion engine families from the Chrysler Corporation that are Hemi engines; in other words, they utilize a hemispherical combustion chamber. A hemispherical cylinder head allows the valves to be inline rather than side-by-side, which gives a straighter, simpler airflow path, allows large valves, and gives greater efficiency. The hemi design places the sparkplug in the center, giving more even ignition.
The advantages of the hemi cylinder head come at the disadvantage of requiring intake and Exhaust valve stems that point in different directions, requiring much more complicated rocker arm setups in overhead valve engines. These also increase the space taken up by the cylinder head; Hemi engines are not space-efficient.
The hemispherical head designed engines were the first engines in 1964 to officially use the "Hemi" name, a word Chrysler trademarked. All Chrysler Hemi engines of the 1960s displaced 426 in³ (7.0 L). Although just 11,000 Hemi engines were produced for consumer sale, the engine became legendary, with "Hemi" becoming one of the most familiar automobile-related words in the United States. The 426 Hemi was nicknamed the "elephant engine" at the time, a reference to its far-from-compact dimensions and extraordinary power.
1970 Plymouth Barracuda STK 70-ATL.mpg
This 1970 Barracuda is about the experience. Mopar muscle delivers the goods, puts a grin on your face when you mash the throttle, and smoothes the wrinkles on your face. And if youre going to build a Mopar it has to be Plum Crazy Purple with the 440 call outs. Personally, its our favorite color for any Mopar, and on this Cudas sheet metal, it really pops. Add in the black hockey sticks and this car is dazzling. Bodywork is excellent, no patches, no filler, just fresh metal as the perfect foundation for the killer paint. A satin black Go-Wing has been installed on the deck lid. Add Foose wheels, (17 front and 18 back) and you have the ride everyone will envy. This car's windows have also been tinted and give it a down right killer look rolling on the bright come wheels.
In the case of this Cuda, the driving experience is more like a spiritual awakening and a trip back to when gas was cheap, cars were fast, and life was easy.. This Cuda packs one of the most famous engines to ever roll off an assembly line, a 440 with an Edelbrock hi rise and a 750 cc Holley 4-barrel carburetor feeds this infamous engine. A set of chrome valve covers really adds an eye pleasing touch. As you'd expect, its nicely detailed under the hood. Exhaust duties are handled by a set of correct cast-iron manifolds, not tubular headers, and up top theres a hood scoop feeding that hungry 4-barrel Holley. The real goal was to build a ground-pounding Cuda that will embarrass just about anything on four wheels, and in that regard, the car is a smashing success. A 727 Toque Flight with a 83/4 posi track and 276 gears is a nice touch for putting power to pavement but keeping the highway RPMs reasonable.
Of all the muscle being pumped out in the late 60s and early 70s, the Mopar interiors seem to be the most inviting. Maybe its those high-back buckets that are every bit as comfortable as they look. Maybe its the B&M shifter, or the cool array of gauges that look race-car inspired. You sit low in a Cuda, but visibility is good, and youll never get tired hearing the 440 Exhaust note. The black seats are new, as is the foam underneath so you can cruise for hours comfortably. The dash has been restored and is full of gauges, not just warning lights. A JVC sound system replaces the old AM radio, and a new pro grip makes the steering wheel look like new. Theres no question about the experience you'll have owning this classic Mopar muscle.
