My 2000 Pontiac Trans Am Summary 2011

I purchased this 2000 Trans Am to use as my new daily driver. It's originally from California with only 28,000 miles and bone stock. I added a 78' Trans Am gold decal kit and some of my lighting effects. There's more to come!!! Next year......Year One 4th gen snowflake wheels with gold inserts!

4th Gen Trans Am Functional Shaker Scoop
I've been working on it for months in my head and finally put together a way to make my shaker scoop a functional air intake to supplement the factory air box. This is as functional as the original 1970-1972 Trans Ams. Under normal conditions, my car will pull in air through the factory air filter. Under 50% throttle or greater, the flap opens in the scoop and pulls additional air in through the filter inside the shaker I designed. The front half of the shaker is completely sealed. It mates with the rear half that is attached to the brackets that hold the shaker in place. There is a slight overlap to give a better seal and also a gasket around the lower outside panel as well. I have no doubt this increases airflow. The factor air box is only 1" tall. A WS6 airbox is about 3" tall. That's a huge difference in air potential. Does my design increase horse power? It's hard to say and almost impossible to measure. Possibly no increase at all. Possibly up to 5hp increase but a Dyno repeatability would never see the difference. It doesn't matter one way or another. One question I get all the time at car shows is "is it functional". Now I can say "YES". :)

99' Trans Am Old School Hood Bird
Here's a quick video showing the new hood bird I had installed on my 99' Trans Am. The hood bird is a 73'-78' style in dual orange/black center. I installed all of my stripes but this was a bit out of my skill level. I ran with the dual stripes on the hood for about 10 years so it was time for a change. My side stripes are outlined in orange (it doesn't show up in the video) to match the orange of the hood bird. Thanks!

Firebird Formula Trans Am Knight Rider Light Scanner NON RAM AIR
Here's my latest knight rider light. It's for the stock hood (non-ram air) Firebird, Formula, or Trans Am. I just bought this 2000 Trans Am so the new light could be born (that wasn't the only reason). The light you see in this video has every option ( 29 scans, 10 speeds per scan, manual control, remote control, and interior display). Sorry that the video is so dark but two of the cars in it are black and it's really hard to pick them up at night. Thanks for watching!!

Pontiac Trans Am custom collection
This is just a mix of unique Tras Am cars. I also love the stock model but this video is not about that. So if you are about to cry because we have tainted the bandit take a hike.

2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 4th Gen Shaker Install
My father-in-law and I installed a 1971 shaker scoop on my 2000 Trans Am. I've been going for a retro 1977 Black SE (Bandit) look on it and need the shaker to complete the look. The installation went perfect. The shaker is a brand new and has the functional flap that opens either manually with a toggle switch, and when my cooling fans turn on. And since it's bolted to the engine and not the hood, it shakes. :)

Trans Am Knight Rider Light Scanner Version 3.5 + 4
Here are my latest versions of my Knight Rider Style lights. Version 3.5 in blue and Version 4 in red. My friend wrote me an awesome new program so I can now PWM (create fade effects) to all of my light scans. It's hard to see them in some of the scans in the video due to how a camera collects light but every scan has a faded beginning and end to them. The video doesn't do it justice to how good they look. My father-in-law is the owner of the Black TA. It was nice being able to film a 2nd car instead of using mine all the time (even though it is in it). I know it's a little crazy trying to watch 2 cars at once going through all of the scans but the Blue scanner has 20 of them and the Red scanner has 30. The video would be way too long if I did them separately. Thanks for watching! Tech Specs: Version 3.5 24 Output Control Box 100 5mm 35,000mcd LEDs Left + Right Scoop are mirrors of each other PWM fade effect Remote Control 10 Speeds per scan EEPROM saves last scan and the speed for all scans. What ever scan is running when it is turned off will begin when turned back on. The speed is saved independently for all scans. Once they are set, they don't have to be set again unless I want to change it. Version 4 50 Output Control Box 200 5mm 35,000mcd LED Independent LEFT - RIGHT scoops Random Eye Scan (eyes move to random position for a random amount of time at a random speed. It will never do the same movement twice). PWM fade effect Remote Control 10 Speeds per scan EEPROM saves last scan and the speed for all scans. What ever scan is running when it is turned off will begin when turned back on. The speed is saved independently for all scans. Once they are set, they don't have to be set again unless I want to change it.
