Dieter's 1970 Cougar Eliminator (former NHRA Super Stock car) with a modified Boss 351C motor, (very rare), street racing an all out 1969 Camaro drag car in 1979. Old school street racing where it all began and the way it was back then. NO juice in those days, and healthy small blocks were making about 425 HP.

This is the story of Brian Aust and his 1968 Mercury Cougar 427 GT-E. Over the course of about 5 years, he undertook a painstaking restoration to bring the car to the highest level he could, with a little help from his friends (and lots of advice from folks on http://www.mercurycougar.net ). On January 22, 2011, he drove it onto the auction block at Barrett-Jackson, stepped out, and watched it sell for... well, you'll just have to watch to find out!

INTERIOR: There are no speaker holes in the rear side panels or the trap door!! Brand new carpet has just been installed. Rear fiberglass side panels, vent pieces, rear trap door just nicely painted. Gauges and ign. switch not hooked up
yet. All the seat upholstery is original from 1965!! and obviously needs reupholstered. Door panels are new and not installed yet (black std.). Brand new black headliner not installed yet.
