Dodge Omni GLH Shift Linkage Installation
I installed the Great Lakes Hot Rods L body Shift Linkage kit in my Omni GLH recently. There are some differences between the NA GLH and turbo model shift linkages which gave me a really rough time. Notice where my NA ball socket is on the long piece which goes to the shifter vs. stock. See also how my piece is angled so much more than the turbo piece is. If you barely install the spherical bearing into the rod that will be a great starting place to allow for proper movement and placement of the shifter for the NA models. Installing the ball on the opposite side like stock may help, but I was following the directions, and the height wouldn't have been all that different anyway. At 2:31 you can see the arm which goes to the shifter and compare it to a turbo one in the instructions you're provided.

It didn't scratch the glass. The aftermarket tint is applied on the driver-side windows, the passenger-side windows and the rear hatch. It is not too dark, has good visibility at night, and no wrinkle spots or sun fading. This is a good quality tint and appears to be professionally installed. No rust under the doors, and the door hinge pins are very secure. The door weatherstrip has come loose for about 2 feet on the bottom of the driver's door. It is intact, not damaged and can possibly be glued back on or completely replaced if desired. Carpets are 95% clean, no missing patches or ripped piles. Just one small stain that appear to be from boots, and can probably be cleaned using a good carpet cleaner. I always used the original Mopar floor mats, which are in real good condition and are included. Clean non-smoking interior. Seats are 95% and work as they should, just like everything else. I had seat covers on them since Day 2. Momo leather shift knob is 98% and the leather wrapped steering wheel is 95%. Only 3 small surface scuffs on the wheel, but both the steering wheel and the shift knob are nice and black with no dry rot whatsoever. I replaced the original radio for a Chrysler Infinity from a 1989 Lebaron turbo 2.5, and it was a simple swap. Same connectors I believe. It sounds so much better than stock, but I will also include the stock radio with the sale. Previous owner had an expensive stereo in it which he removed before selling it to me. You will see Dynamat on the trunk floor and spare wheel compartment because he had a speaker back there. Even the glovebox door strap is intact! The AutoMeter Boost gauge will stay with the car and works excellent. The needle does not flutter since I think it is a liquid-filled gauge. It should light up with the instrument panel but I think the bulb is burned out. All other interior lights work as they should. I removed the Boost gauge that the previous owner installed because it was on the A-pillar and forced you to take your eyes off the road. Also, I installed this so that it could be easily unplugged and stowed in the glovebox to avoid theft. I didn't cut or drill any holes during installation and it can be easily removed. The sun visors stay put. There are a few areas of the headliner that are beginning to settle. Nothing major, can possibly be fixed with a spray adhesive.

Drag racing the Omni GLH SRT4
First time I've ever gotten a chance to see myself drag racing. These are 3 of the runs I made on Friday May 8th, 2009. I'm running 8psi of Boost, E85 for fuel, MegaSquirt is running my 2.4L DOHC motor. I REALLY have a traction problem in 1st and 2nd. The last car I ran against really threw me off, I normally baby my gas in 1st and 2nd to keep the tires connected. I couldn't hear anything but that loud thing, I was quite happy when he ran off and left me to myself. hehehe

A little bit of oil has leaked from the struts. They should be replaced. The retractable trunk cover works excellent and is removable by design. Removing it provides access to 2 button plugs over each wheel house in order to adjust the Koni adjustable shocks. The shocks are original and work excellent. They have not leaked. The Dynamat sound deadener sheets were installed on the trunk floor and spare wheel compartment by the previous owner. The spare wheel does not appear to have been used. Included is the original scissors jack and hold-down bolt, but the original lug wrench is missing. I have included a 4-way wrench that packs away nicely. The sunroof glass panel bag is in great shape with no rips and can be secured to the floor to prevent sliding while driving. The rear hatch has no rust anywhere, especially on the lip edge. I installed Blue Dots on a duplicate rear center high brake tail light. It yields a cool purple glow at night at a distance. Having Blue Dots on your brake lights may not be legal in your state. What I have done was install a toggle switch under the dash board up front allowing you to turn off the light in the event a cop was behind you. I've never had any problems in New York because of them. No wires were cut to do this - I just intercepted the original connector and brought wires to the front dash for the switch. This setup can be easily removed if desired.
