Fury Road began pre production shooting at Broken Hill in 2010 , pictures of vehicles en route to the town and on set began appearing soon after.
Production was halted at Broken Hill as the landscape was too green for the desert environment Miller wanted , after waiting another year it was decided to return to the original location planned for the movie , Namibia , South Africa.
