Viper ACR X at Monticello Motor Club
Dodge was nice enough to bring a Viper ACR-X to Monticello Motor Club for us to try. I only had two laps, but it was fun. It would be great to spend some time getting to know this car, as it has some serious potential. Kuno Wittmer took me for a ride-along to show what it can really do. Yikes!

Pre-Season Viper Cup Testing at MSR Cresson. Dave Fiorelli is getting a handle on the ACR-X. The car is as delivered from Dodge with exception for an alignment and setup. We have some work to do before the first race but this is an excellent start! Look for more videos from the Viper Cup race series begining in May.

2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S, first presentation
2014 Porsche 911 turbo S, first presentation. World presentation in Moscow.03.05.13. Porsche has revealed today the 911 turbo and turbo S, ahead of a public debut scheduled for September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Following several reports and batches of spy shots, the latest 911 turbo lineup has arrived. turbo and turbo S make use of a six-cylinder, 3.8-liter direct-injection turbocharged engine delivering 520 HP (383 kW) in the 911 turbo and 560 HP (412 kW) in the 911 turbo S variant. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK with auto stop/start function which has slashed off fuel consumption by 16 percent to 9.7 liters / 100 km (24.2 mpg US or 29.1 mpg UK). The 911 turbo equipped with Sport Chrono Package will do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds, while the turbo S is 0.1s quicker. Both of them are capable of reaching a top speed of 198 mph (318 km/h). Length has increased by 40mm to 4490mm, while width is also up by 28mm compared to Carrera 4 models to 1878mm. Porsche has also stretched the wheelbase by 100mm to 2450mm, while the front and rear tracks are also longer than before. Both models ride on 20-inch alloy wheels but only the S version has hub wheel locks. The turbo S also gains full LED headlights with four-point daytime running lights and camera-based main beam control (optionally available for turbo). Just like the 911 GT3, the turbo variants have four-wheel steering which help the cars lap Nürburgring in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds with standard production tires fitted. Both of them have a retractable three-stage rear spoiler and a deployable rear wing with three adjustable wing positions. Scheduled to reach the market in September, the 2014 Porsche 911 turbo has a starting price in Germany of 162,055 EUR while the 911 turbo S begins at 195,256 EUR. VAT and country-specific taxes included.

NASA TX & Texas World Speedway - Dodge Viper 'Rogue ACR-X' - April 25th, 2010
This is Race 3. Race 1 and 2 were not so good for me. Race 1 I was rear ended. Race 2 they called us to grid in 5 minutes and yet the race had already left. Go figure. So, before I went home, I just wanted to get in a decent race. I started out 11th because of the Race 2 fiasco. I managed to get to 3rd which wasn't so bad considering it was a 7 lap race. 7 laps? Whatever. Here's the video. Enjoy!

Dodge Viper on the Tail of the Dragon US129 Deals Gap.flv
This was our first pass thought the "Tail of the Dragon", US129, Deal's Gap, My wife was trying to hand hold the camera and it did work very well and made her sick, so that is the only video we shot. It may make you sick watching it. We were driving a 2000 Dodge Viper. I thought it would be best to drive it in first gear but it was hard to keep the rear tires from breaking loose exiting the turns so I ended up driving it in second and it was much easier to control the loose on exit problem. The Viper is stock and quiet about the only time you hear it is when the rear tire breaks loose. It has a brand new set of BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2. 13.5 inches wide in the rear 10.5 inches wide in front. It had rain earlier in the day but was dry when we drove it. We weren't trying to set any records, just having a good time. I had a blast.

NARRA race
This video is from the Viper Racing League Invitational Race at Miller Motorsports Park. What makes it interesting is the Whelen Engineering Rolex GT car piloted by Eric Curran as well as 3 other Whelen Rolex and World Challenge cars were entered. Eric's car had a mechanical DNF on Saturdays race but he lit up the track on Sunday. However, the SMS Corvette won the Saturday race and was 1st in qualifying so all that was needed on Sunday was to finish ahead of the Vipers to get the overall win. This video is from the start with a reverse order grid. (slowest cars first)

One Lap of Monticello Full Course
One of my laps around Monticello Motor Club's Full Course track. Great track and just working on my line and bearings. I can't wait to go back. Shakir
