2008 Triton 5.4 3v Phaser Knock Fixed with LockOuts

2008 F150 with the "fixed" cam phaser issue. Search around and you will quickly find that this is a wide spread issue that Ford is unable to fix. Most times you end up footing the bill and still walk away with the same problem either instantly or within a short time. I will be installing a cam phaser locks and updating the PCM to resolve this issue. Yes you will loose some HP and Torque but in the long run you dont have to keep paying for failed phasers and VCT solenoids. Currently the parts are back ordered (seems its hard to keep up with demand) but once they come in I will post another video of the results.

Ford 4.6l 3v & 5.4L 3v Camshaft Phaser Knocking Noise Fix
In this video I detail Camshaft Phaser repair on the 5.4l 3v engines but the procedure is the same for the 4.6l 3v engine. Phaser Bolt: Torque to 30 ft lbs then an additional 90 degrees. The crankshaft is always being turned in a clockwise direction until the last positioning of the crankshaft in which we spin it counter clockwise 180 degrees. This technology was impossible just a few years ago, due to the state of the art electronics needed. The latest Variable CAM Timing (VCT) systems are infinitely variable, meaning they have no specified settings. CAM timing can be changed or varied instantaneously across the whole range (ie. Plus or Minus 30 degrees from normal). By varying the CAM timing, the ECM can regulate the power curve to meet its own needs. On any gasoline engine, each RPM setting has an optimum CAM timing setting, depending on load. Up until a few years ago engines were set whatever the CAM lobes were machined at. With modern VCT, this relationship can be varied, also varying the engine's power curve. Most modern VCT systems do not control valve lift, but do great by simply changing open and close timing points during engine operation. Ford 4.6L V8 Intake Manifold Replacement
Complete instructions for intake manifold swap on 4.6l Ford V8 engine. It is easy! I got new Dorman 615-175 to replace stock OEM part. Each step was relatively easy but there were a lot of steps. Took me 6 hours total for removal and repair. The Dorman part came with new thermostat and O-ring. Also had new alternator bracket as old one could not be used. This part is improved over original OE as has O-rings for all ports so a gasket is not needed. No more leaking coolant. Fits 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Crown Victoria and other Ford, Lincoln, Mercury V8 motors such as Mustang, Explorer, Expedition, Grand Marquis, Town Car. The 5.4l truck and Expedition should be similar.
