What's UP! VDUB, .. all my VW people, show some love!!
This is my dailey driver, and instead of the popular VR6 swap or the MUST
DO 16v swap, I decided to stick with the 8v and plan on making 300hp turbo later!
But first things first: to get some power now, I BEEFed up the TOP END:
Mk2 8v ABA Head swap w/dual valve springs:
- 4 Angle valve job
- Port and Polish job
- Milled and deck: little higher than 10:1
- Resurfaced and High Temp. Coated all around

SPA turbo: adjustable cam gear: set at
0 degree, currently
ARP Head studs: non-undercut
VICTOR REINZ: MLS metal head gasket and gasket kit
BLACKFORESTINDUSTRIES: STage 2 PEM chip: for 270 cam
TECHTONICS: 2" INCH RACE downpipe: it deletes the cat
TECHTONICS: 2.25 catback: Dynomax
8V PULLEY SET
Bosch plugs w/ OEM wires/ Castrol Syntec oil: EDGE
ROKKOR COILOVERS: (which i would give 2.5 out of 5; I WANT TO TRY FK's)
BFI Stage .5 Engin mount Kit: OWNED/NOT YET INSTALLED
176 Degree Thermostat: OWNED/NOT YET INSTALLED
New OEM+ clutch: OWNED/NOT YET INSTALLED
After graduating and new job, want to get rims, interior, and STG 3 turbo kit

Mk3 jetta GLS 2.0 Techtonics exhaust sound clip
Well this'll the Exhaust clip from my
2.0 1997 jetta GLS it has a techtonics Exhaust with a magnaflow tip which I think is
one of the better Exhausts for this
car sound and performance wise. Other mods include a light weight fly
wheel a techtonics 260 cam shaft
And matching chip. The car is siting on a set of JOM coils when this video
was taken my ride right was well more like a monster truck but I have
adjusted it since then and it sits a good 2 and half inches lower.
2.0 8v Magnaflow Exhaust
A few clips of my Golf's Exhaust
Outside at idle has a nice, deep tone...you need a speaker setup with
subwoofer to fully appreciate the sound. Not raspy at all, and with the new
resonator, a lot less droney, too.
The airbox is cut so the entire fender side is open to draw in air. The
stock airbox/filters are so large on these cars that dropping a cone filter
intake setup in isn't necessary; a cloth filter and modded airbox is really
all you need.

-2.0 8v ABA, aka the 2-point-slow
VW Jetta Tarmac Long run.
12.1 Mile run. 35 degrees outside. Kumho Ecsta AST's 195/50/15. Not the
best tires, but its winter and they are better in the cold. Not even close
to the limit even with those tires.
1997 VW jetta 8 valve OBD1 motor and head. 260 cam, ported intake manifolds
and TB, velocity stack for this run, 8LB flywheel, 16V clutch and pressure
plate, Full SS Exhaust, High flow cat,
TT downpipe, MK4 Manifold. Koni Yellows, FK springs, Poly bushings all
around, G60 HD strut mounts, Neuspeed 28 mm RSB Neuspeed 25mm FSB, upper
strut brace, rear upper strut brace, WRD lower front strut brace, Corrado
G60 11.1" Front brakes, Powerslot Cryo treated rotors all around, SS Brake
lines, Hawk HPS Pads all around.
VW Golf MKIII 2.0 ABA w/ TT Cam, Chip and Magnaflow Exhaust
VW Golf MKIII, 2.0 8v ABA 5spd. TT 266 (270) Cam, TT Cam Chip, VR6
injectors, Custom Ported TB, Magnaflow cat-back Exhaust and BFI .5 stage mounts. This is a cold
start with a couple rev's. The car's chip doesn't settle the rev's until
about 30 seconds of running so there is a pretty nice lope to the engine
during this time. The cat's shield is loose, that's what you hear rattling.
2.0L VW Jetta exhaust sound clip
This is my 2nd attempt at the Exhaust
on my 96. It is curently 2.25" no cat through a Thrush glass pack, then
into 2.5" mandrel bends and into a Hooker Aero chamber muffler. I think
the camera actually make sound slightly raspier than it is. It doesn't
sound to bad for a 4 cyl.
