Turbo 5.3 LSX Fairmont, Greg's First Ride in the Ultimate Sleeper
This is Greg, my 15 year old son's, first ride in the Fairmont. He is the one that found the car on YouTube and told me about it and that Matt (Denmah) wanted to sell it. Too bad it was dark, because you can't see his face. We will make another video this weekend in the light. Anyway, enjoy...there are several hard pulls here with absolutely no traction...and me cackling like an idiot. I love this car!!!
Turbo LSx Fairmont vs. Stretched GSXR-750R From a 50 Roll Down in Mexico.....
Here is a little roll action with Leroy Brown and a stretched Gixxer 750.
Deal was we would go from 50, and I would take the hit since he could not
hear honks anyway. First race he said he was not ready, second race he
wound up taking the hit and I had to run him down on only 10 psi, third
race went as planned.....
6-23-12 fairmont update... the 5.3 is ready
today me and corey did the valvesprings, and zr1 cam, swapped my oil pan,
and anything else i am forgetting, also reinstalled the motor, turbo kit, and threw on the corvette alternator
bracket and spaced it out and sized a belt. sorry for the noise at some
points there was a big fan in the garage making the wind noise, i was
5.3 Turbo LSx Fairmont Second Pass Exterior View....
This was the second pass. I turned up the Boost to 17 and lagged it harder. What I
failed to see was that I pushed through and triggered the beams and sat
there. Well, that would explain why I went 10.55. Did turn 136. 60 foot was
a dismal (duh) 2.0 on this pass.
Dyno 5.3 Home Ported Heads '84 Chevy C10 LS6 Cam 4L80E Truck
I finally got the truck on the Dyno (4 Jan 13) for the "After"
Dyno. After the home
ported heads and a tune on my 5.3 with LS6 cam through a 4L80E.
There are a couple variables of course (always are). For one the weather
was the complete opposite as it was the first time. A lot cooler. Around 55
instead of the 100+. Another is that this was with the tune adjustment. We
dont know how lean it was on the first run before the heads.
Either way, the truck put down respectable numbers with a baby LS6 cam and
the 80e trans. It had an increase of 47rwhp and 55 ft lb of torque.
Bringing it to 329 rwhp and 334 ft lb of torque. Thats very close if not
right at 400 hp at the flywheel accounting for the hp loss through the 80e
No longer running lean. Cool part is that this is exactly where I
guestimated it to be.
Now I just need to hold back this itch for a larger cam and focus on my turbo LSx 92 Camaro build. I do think that
this truck could greatly benefit from a stall on this 80e though. I just
have to remember that the purpose of this build is to be a street work
truck to tow my Camaro
around and not a race truck.

Busted!! Cops bust a highly modified volvo turbo.
WATCH THE MIDDLE LANE @ THE LIGHT!!!!!
"The Brick"- otherwise known the old skool volvo sleeper-esque station
wagon looking thing. A favorite for enthusiasts given the potential for
power as seen in this example. The show and go got stopped by Ocean
Citys(MD) finest as he was displaying his wares. Limiter hits hard as
wastegate to atmosphere is ridiculously loud. Props to this awesome
1986 third gen Trans Am turbocharged 5.3 LM7 LSx runs
Couple WOT runs in my 1986 trans. Setup is a 2005 5.3 stock bottom end,
317 heads, LS6 cam and valvesprings, LS6 intake manifold, and custom fabbed
turbo setup with a turbonetics 76mm ball bearing turebo. Currently
running 5 PSI but engine will take 12-14 PSI. Car has a T56 tranny with a
textralia clutch as well.
5.3 LSX Turbo Fairmont Helmet Cam Ride Along
Wanted to test out something so I took the car for a short hop. With the
M/Ts it dead hooks....which means that the speed piles up at an alarming
rate. You really have to lift after a couple of seconds on the street. LOL.
