Turbo 5.3 LSX Fairmont, Greg's First Ride in the Ultimate Sleeper

This is Greg, my 15 year old son's, first ride in the Fairmont. He is the one that found the car on YouTube and told me about it and that Matt (Denmah) wanted to sell it. Too bad it was dark, because you can't see his face. We will make another video this weekend in the light. Anyway, enjoy...there are several hard pulls here with absolutely no traction...and me cackling like an idiot. I love this car!!!

Leroy Brown the Turbo LSX Fairmont at TX2K14.....
Wins and losses at TX2K14. The races against the Vette, Monte and RX7 were on low Boost, 12 psi. The Supras were raced on 15-16 psi as was the LSX Willys. It was a good time. We had some issues and the car was pushing some coolant on long pulls, but we came to race and we did. I had hoped for more action, but maybe next time! 5.3 LSx Turbo Fairmont 2-3 Pull with High Quality Underhood Sound!!!
Ok, I have been getting some complaints about the sound quality. So, I put the mic under the hood right by the turbo. I think it came about pretty good and certainly captured that turbo at full spool....this is still on 13 psi. I really cannot imagine this car on 20. It is insane.





1993 S-10 with 5.3L 4L65e Sleeper
1993 Chevrolet S-10 with 5.3L engine and 4L65e transmission. Using a plug and play Current Performance engine wiring harness to mate the S10 wiring with the V8 wiring. Corvette radiator with dual electric puller fan. Engine has a LS1 camshaft and intake that is accompanied by a Nelson Performance computer tune. Using the Corvette serpentine front accessories in order to get the stock hood clearance.

When I was a kid, my dad always had fast cars. He used to like to take me along for rides and scare me. I finally had the chance to repay him with Goldmember...he renamed the car "Leroy Brown." Enjoy.

5.3 Turbo LSx Fairmont Second Pass Exterior View....
This was the second pass. I turned up the Boost to 17 and lagged it harder. What I failed to see was that I pushed through and triggered the beams and sat there. Well, that would explain why I went 10.55. Did turn 136. 60 foot was a dismal (duh) 2.0 on this pass.





700hp Turbo LSx Jaguar XJ SLEEPER
We made our first visit to Irwindale Drag Strip for one of the test & tune nights... one of the cars that caught our attention was this unsuspecting 1970's Jaguar XJ with a decent sized turbo and a stroked out LSx (402ci). While it's not the quickest thing on the strip, it was pretty sweet to see this stock interior boat flying down the track!





My First Pass at the Track with 5.3 LSx Turbo Fairmont.....10.36 @ 134
This is the first time out with Goldmember at the track for me. Drove it an hour on the interstate cruising along happily in OD with the converter locked up @ 2400 rpm, aired down the tires and lined it up. Pass was made on wastegate alone, so 13 psi. Very conservative tune and race gas for insurance. This was the first time this car was launched off of the anti-lag at the track. It cut a 1.71. I think I had about 6-7 psi of Boost built up. Tricky to launch. When I get it down a bit, we will be solidly in the 9's. Went 10.36 @ 134 on this run, with a 6.7 @ 107 in the 1/8th. I am happy for sure with this type of performance for my first time out.....

Last pass. 17 psi, left on around 7-8 psi on the anti-lag. Hooked pretty decently, still spun. Cut a 1.59 on this pass........

Here is a little roll action with Leroy Brown and a stretched Gixxer 750. Deal was we would go from 50, and I would take the hit since he could not hear honks anyway. First race he said he was not ready, second race he wound up taking the hit and I had to run him down on only 10 psi, third race went as planned.....
