I attended Car & Driver's Hyundai Veloster turbo/ Sonata 2.0T test drive. I LOVE both cars, but there are a few cons.
SONATA 2.0t - The car looks like a Mercedes CLS, has great pickup and acceleration. Only thing that bothered me is that cooled seats aren't an option yet ala the Kia Optima. There is almost no road feel at all, so enthusiasts will want to look for a rear wheel driver like the Subaru BRZ/ Scion FRS.
VELOSTER turbo - The car is cooler than the Kia Soul, is highly efficient on fuel for its performance and is decent enough for teen drivers. I'm not sold on the 3 door design and I wish it had cooled seats like the Kia Optima. The Veloster DOES NOT preform as well as the Sonata because Engine displacement was reduced from the Sonata's turbocharged 274HP 2.0 liter to a 1.6 liter turbo with 201 HP. The Veloster lacks some low end torque and doesn't hit 60 as quickly. like the Sonata, THERE IS NO ROAD FEEL AT ALL. Both cars ride smooth but they can get very loud at high RPM. I suppose performance car lovers will like that.

2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo 0-60 MPH

The Veloster turbo is fitted with a twin-scroll turbocharged 1.6-liter inline four cylinder engine that produces 201 horsepower (HP) and 195 pound feet of torque. The little four banger is equipped with dual overhead cams (DOHC), variable valve timing (D-CVVT), and direct injection (GDI).
This six-speed manual turbocharged Veloster was fitted with summer-spec Michelin tires. The 0-60 MPH test was performed with Traction Control OFF.
