1929 Atlas Imperial diesel.
Originally installed in a tugboat which operated on the Columbia river, this engine was saved from the scrap pile and restored to magnificent condition for all of us to enjoy. This engine now resides at Berthused Memorial Park in Lynde, WA. and is run every year during the annual Puget Sound Antique Tractor Assn. Threshing "B".

The hand crank turns a heavy flywheel at the rear of the engine, when it reaches a high rotation speed, a pin is pushed or pulled, this connects the spinning flywheel to the crank shaft, which spins up the Pistons thus starting the engine.
