We all know the truck market has fierce competition. In fact, almost all the big truck brands are bringing out new models and redesigns for the new model year. Ford recently brought out their all-new F-150, RAM is unleashing their new Rebel and Laramie Limited trims and Nissan completely redesigned their new Titan with a Cummins diesel. So what is GM going to do with their Chevy and GMC trucks? Let’s find out. 4WheelOnline intro Its been just two years since GM redesigned the Silverado, but a lot of people think they didn’t go far enough. So now they’re taking another stab at it with the 2016 Chevy Silverado. No, this isn’t their next generation truck, but it's sporting new styling and a tech overhaul for the 2016 model year. Can’t tell what’s new? Well, The biggest change is that Chevy’s scrapping the long-standing dual stack headlights that have been a part of the truck since the 80s. Yeah, I’d say that’s a pretty big departure to make for what is supposed to be just a mid-cycle design refresh. Along with the new headlamps are new taillights, a new grille, front fascia and a more muscular looking hood. As for functional changes, the new Silverado will be expanding their eight speed transmission to the 5.3L V8, which is sure to improve the fuel efficiency of their lineup overall. Another big change is a overhaul of the MyLink infotainment system which will be gaining compatibility with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Not to be left out, GMC also rolled out the new Sierra pickups with a similar makeover. They even one upped Chevy with this hype video. Here, they are incorporating C-shaped LEDs along with a new Fascia, Grille and Bumpers. The new Sierra’s are also expected to be rocking the transmission and infotainment updates that Chevy’s getting. So what do you guys think? Are you impressed by GMs new full size truck redesigns? Let us know what you think of the new trucks in the comments below. We’ll get more details on they come closer to going on sale this fall but for now that’s that biggest 4x4 news this week, but be sure to subscribe to stay up to date with all the latest truck and suv news.
