Pontiac 464 dyno pull, 507 HP @ 5800
This is a 464 Pontiac with iron 6X heads that have been ported. 10:1 compression, 91 octane pump gas, headers. 507 HP @ 5800. Average 474 HP from 5000-7000 rpm. Over 400 HP from 4500-7200 rpm. Over 400 FT. LBS. torque from 3100-6400 rpm. Carb not dialed in for this intake which is being replaced with a Victor and retested. Dipstick was not seated and caused oil to leak on the header from 5000 rpm up. Problem solved by moving dipstick tube over so the dipstick could seat.

GTO First Start Up
Having a conversation with Darrel Arvizo, AKA "Slo-Moe", about his sweet GTO build and NOT getting a straight answer out of him on anything. I'm sure that engine puts out over 1000 horse power, who's he tryin to kid... LOL. Anyway, this is what I do know.... The chassis was built by Rob Lindsay at R.J. Fabrication, engine build by Rock & Roll Engineering and NHRA Super Stock Indy winner Bruce Fulper, body work done by Tony "Cricket Fingers" Griffin, C&R Radiator, APS-Racing carb spacer, CCP control arms, MSD Ignition and a lot of hard work by Slo Moe. Pontiac 535 engine by Tin Indian Performance 1000+ Horsepower ideling on dyno
This is the current combo that is in the Tin Indian Performance Dragster. Combo features a MR-1 cast iron block, forged crankshaft, GRP Rods, Ross Pistons, Total Seal rings, Custom camshaft, KRE 400 CFM High Port Heads, KRE Sheet metal intake with CNC'ed runners and 2 1250 holley dominator carbs. Special KRE made Tri-Y headers, and Star Machine vac pump. This combo makes 1013 hp @ 7800 rpm and 769 ft lbs of torque at 6200 rpm. This engine has taken our TIP dragster a best of 7.14 @ 186.51 at Norwalk Raceway Park in September 2009! www.tinindianperformance.com

Growing up.....Pontiac/Oldsmobile old timers/EXPERTS who taught me most of what I know, often told me Chevy rated their horsepower in a more optimistic way than say Oldsmobile or Pontiac. I've even heard Pontiac rated/tested their engines in a 100 degree room, compared to Chevy in a 60 degree room. These Dyno results seem to reflect that some of what I heard was true. Both of these engines are great, but the results do seem to show that Pontiac was not rating their horsepower worrying if it would cause "songs to be written" about their engines .... like the great song "She's real fine my 409"--(Chevy).
