2014 Chevy Sonic Turbo vs Ford Fiesta vs the Ike Gauntlet Mashup Review (Part 2)
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2014 Chevy Sonic turbo and the 2014 Ford Fiesta are small economy cars that almost directly compete. Of course the difference is that the Fiesta is normally aspirated while the sonic has a small turbo. How does this effect a cars performance when the road gets steep, the altitude get hight and the car is loaded to the rafters with with people? From Dillion, Colorado to the Eisenhower Tunnel U.S. I-70 climbs 8 miles to a maximum elevation of 11,158 feet or 3,401 meters. That's enough elevation and grade to test a small economy car like the 2014 2014 Ford Fiesta and the Chevy Sonic turbo. In Part 2 of another accurate, informative and fun TFLcar mashup review Nathan, Emme, Andre and Roman take on the Ike Gauntlet in the new 2014 Ford Fiesta and Chevy Sonic turbo to see how these small cars handle the steep grade and lack of air density in the Mountains of Colorado. Competitors: Honda Fit, Nissan Versa, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio What Camerons Car Reviews has to say about the 2013 Sonic: Chevrolet is starting to prove to other Japanese automakers that they are not messing around anymore. This can be applied to the Sonic a car that was once a cheap Aveo has now gone upmarket with much technology and a sporty character that couldn't be said with the Aveo. Inside you will find it to be very unique with a fun character on the interior and comfortable seats as well as a futuristic touchscreen. The Aveo comes in a hatchback or a sedan. All in all great car from Chevy, but can it handle the competition from the hot selling Honda Fit and Ford Fiesta. We think so.

2014 Chevrolet Sonic Review by Automotive Trends
http://automotivetrends.com GM's been enjoying much improved sales results the last few years and a big driver of that has been the newfound competitiveness in its car lineup. Chevrolet now has a strong entry at every level from the ity bity Spark to the downright handsome Impala and it's been far too long since we've been able to declare that. We just got a crack at the 5-door Sonic and while no one will be using phrases like "downright handsome" to describe it, we found a lot to like about the little Michigan-made Chevy. First is the excellent 1.4-liter turbo that delivers a stout 148 lb-ft of torque at a very useable 2,500 rpm and manages to earn 29 mpg city and 40 mpg highway. We liked the 6-speed manual that delivered rewarding shifts and smooth clutch engagement. Just like we noted in the Spark the technology offered at this price point continues to impress. Our $20,405 tester featured a backup camera, bluetooth, lane departure and forward collision alert systems, satellite radio and the touch-screen MyLink system for easily controlling compatible iPhone apps like navigation and Pandora. We would ask Chevy to bring back some simple volume and tuning knobs. We found the Sonic commendably quiet with a comfortable ride quality and impressive responses considering this wasn't even a sport-oriented RS model. The seats were very comfortable and nicely bolstered and the driving position was spot on with no sense that this was an economy car. Our particular tester featured a selection of dealer-installed accessories like black wheels and a cat back Borla Exhaust that might appeal to young buyers that make up a big part of this car's target audience but certainly aren't needed. With solid ergonomics, a willing powertrain and no glaring penalties for choosing one of their smallest cars, a Chevy showroom should be high on your list when shopping in this segment.
