I am no longer building any REBUILT standard / stock 350's Key word Is
stock standard 350.
I am only building NEW 383's and up
YES i know a 383 is a 350 block using a 400 crank...This is the old school
poor man method...which yes I have done and still do on occasion.
But I start now with a brand new DART block a New EAGLE 383 crank and rods
and I have been using Dart Pro comp or to save you some money NKB heads.

How to Assemble a Chevy Engine Part 1
This video will show you how to assemble a Chevy engine (or any engine)
starting from the basic block. It goes through installing the crankshaft,
checking for the right clearences using plastic gage, installing the rings
on the pistons, installling the piston in the block, checking the rod
bearing clearence, torquing all the bolts to the collect specifications,
installing the rear main seal, and demonstrating how the motor works from
the bottom view and top view.

The first V-type engine (a 2-cylinder vee twin) was built in 1889 by
Daimler, to a design by Wilhelm Maybach. By 1903 V8 engines were being
produced for motor boat racing by the Société Antoinette to designs by
Léon Levavasseur, building on experience gained with in-line four-cylinder
engines. In 1904, the Putney Motor Works completed a new V12 marine racing
engine -- the first V12 engine produced for any purpose. Known as the
'Craig-Dörwald' engine after Putney's founding partners, the engine
mounted pairs of L-head cylinders at a 90 degree included angle on an
aluminium crankcase, using the same cylinder pairs that powered the
company's standard 2-cylinder car. A single camshaft mounted in the central
vee operated the valves directly. As in many marine engines, the camshaft
could be slid longitudinally to engage a second set of cams, giving valve
timing that reversed the engine's rotation to achieve astern propulsion.
"Starting is by pumping a charge into each cylinder and switching on the
trembler coils. A sliding camshaft gave direct reversing. The camshaft has
fluted webs and main bearings in graduated thickness from the largest at
the flywheel end." Displacing 1,119.9 cuin (18,352 cc) (bore and stroke
of 4.875" x 5" (123.8 x 127 mm)), the engine weighed 950 pounds (430 kg)
and developed 150 bhp (110 kW). Little is known of the engine's
achievements in the 40-foot hull for which it was intended, while a scheme
to use the engine to power heavy freight vehicles never came to
fruition. One V12 Dörwald marine engine was found still running in a
Hong Kong junk in the late-1960s.
Two more V12s appeared in the 1909-10 motor boat racing season. The Lamb
Boat & Engine Company of Clinton, Iowa built a 1,558.6 cuin (25,541 cc
(5.25" x 6" (133.4 x 152.4 mm)) engine for the company's 32-foot Lamb IV.
It weighed in at 2,114 pounds (959 kg). No weight is known for the massive
3,463.6 cuin (56,758 cc) (7" x 7.5" (177.8 x 190.5 mm)) F-head engine built
by the Orleans Motor Company. Output is quoted as "nearly 400 bhp (300
By 1914, when Panhard built two 2,356.2 cuin (38,611 cc) (5" x 10" (127 x
254 mm)) engines with four-valve cylinder heads the V12 was well
established in motor boat racing.
In automobiles, V12 engines have not been common due to their complexity
and cost. They are used almost exclusively in expensive sports and luxury
cars because of their power, smoother operation and distinctive sound.

Desktop Engine Build: 1965 Chevelle 350
When it came time to plan the engine in our 1965 Chevelle project, we
tossed around a couple ideas, but decided to modify the 350 that came with
the car. It's a parts-store remanufactured 4-bolt 350 V8 with less than
10000 miles on it. The bottom end is ideal for a mild street engine, but
we didn't like the crappy lo-performance cast iron heads and weak camshaft.
So before we turned a single wrench, we turned to our handy copy of Dynomation engine
simulation and Dyno
software to help us build a smooth 400 horsepower version of our
helps you select cams, heads, compression ratios, Exhaust.. all elements of engine design and then
simulate Dyno pulls
and evaluate parts changes, all without buying a single part. It's a
great way to hone-in on your ideal combination without having to spend
extra money and time doing things twice.
350 Chevy Blower Motor Startup
This is a blown 357 cubic inch small block Chevy engine. I have built
several engines over the years, but, this is my first blower motor. It is a
.040 over bore, 1987 block with World Products cast iron heads, flat top
pistons, 9 to 1 compression.
The blower is a large displacement 6-71. On top are two 1850-3 Holley
carbs. They have been specially modified to work on top of a blower. It has
a Kuhl 20% under drive and produces 6 pounds of Boost at 5000 RPM's.
Ignition is an MSD 6AL triggered by a high performance distributor with a
magnetic pickup.Coil is an MSD HVC. This is a very streetable blower setup
that runs on 93 octane pump gas.

Muscle Truck Revamp on a 1974 Chevrolet C10! - Hot Rod Garage Ep. 5
On this episode of Hot Rod Garage Presented by Lincoln Tech we revamp the
Muscle Truck, our 1974 Chevrolet C10. In episode 28 of Roadkill we ripped
the stepside fenders off the bed and cut the front sheet metal to make room
for aggressive off-road rubber so that we could roost through the Imperial
Sand Dunes. The fenderless version of the Muscle Truck was fun but it’s
high time we restore the truck to her former glory. We’ll replace the
rapidly deteriorating particle board bed floor with new oak slats and
bolt-on a new pair of aftermarket front fenders. We’ll also add a bit of
functionality to the truck by covering the massive step notch in the rear
frame rails with sheet metal, which will keep stuff from falling out of the
bed. As usual, Finnegan and Freiburger will answer viewer questions pulled
from our Facebook page and Lincoln Tech instructors and students will drop
a bit of knowledge in a

409 Chevy Engine Build -- Part 1

stroked the rotating assembly to up the displacement from 409 to 440 cubic
inches and then replaced the stock heads with much more capable units from
Edelbrock--but painted them to disguise the modern aluminum castings. The
