Team Falken Tire survived the storm that hit Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course 30 minutes before the finish and took top honors in GT class for the first time in the performance tire manufacturer's three-year ALMS career.
Derrick Walker, Falken's ALMS Team Manager, made the comment after previously expressing confidence in Falken's capability at Mid-Ohio, a track he knows very well from years of competing as a manager and owner of IndyCar teams.
Credit also went to Falken's two team drivers, Porsche works driver Wolf Henzler, and his partner, Bryan Sellers, who persevered through the race on a track notoriously tough on tires. Sellers qualified 9th and expressed disappointment with the position, considering Falken has finished in fifth place the last two races. However, Sellers started the race and started moving forward until he was hit from behind by the #04 Ford GT, which dropped the Porsche to 12th. The veteran driver fought hard and turned the car over to his teammate in 10th. Henzler entered the race and gradually moved to 7th place in GT, remaining there for a good portion of the race.
Falken takes on the 2011 Long Beach Grand Prix
Finishing just one place out of a podium spot in the hotly contested GT
Class, Team Falken's Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, piloted by Porsche Works and team
driver Wolf Henzler, and his partner, team driver Bryan Sellers, ran strong
all afternoon on the challenging streets of Long Beach, and ended up 4th
out of 14 GT entrants during the annual visit by the American LeMans Series
to the Long Beach Grand Prix, one of the most prestigious street races in
the world, now in its 37th year.

fix and get us back on the Nordschleife.
Falken Tire 2009 GT2 Porsche 911 RSR Testing
As Falken Tires enters its second year of sports car competition, the tire
manufacturer returns to the important and highly regarded American LeMans
Series (ALMS) competition where it will once again compete in the series
What's different for the ALMS competition 2009 season is this year, Falken
is running its own team, based at its corporate headquarters in Fontana,
CA. The car is the powerful Porsche 911 RSR. The 3.8-liter boxer engine of
the GT3 RSR remains unchanged with the exception of slight improvements in
specified areas. The motor delivers 465 hp at 8,000 rpm. Weight of the race
car is 2,700 pounds.
To ensure its competitiveness, Falken has developed a special Azenis RT
Slick tire for this car, which the company will manufacture in Japan. A
dedicated engineering and development crew will attend each ALMS
competition event to observe and provide appropriate resources. Falken has
developed much of its technology from its motorsports efforts throughout
the world, including competition in Super Taikyu, at the 24 hours of the
legendary Nurburgring - a punishing race - and the highly regarded Pikes
Peak International Hill Climb.

Falken Tire: 2013 Forza Motorsports // Livery Contest
Falken Tire teams up with Turn 10 studios to form a Forza Motorpsorts 4
Livery Contest for the community on Xbox 360. Winning livery was fabricated
on real Falken Tire's Porsche GT3 RSR and races to win the race of Petit Le
Mans Road Atlanta. Subaru BRZ Livery contest coming soon to Forza
Motorsprots 5 on Xbox One.
"Turn 10 Studios has been making Forza Motorsport for almost 10 years now
and It really represents the combination of car lovers and gamers. Getting
people interested in car culture and gaming culture. we are exactly the
people that we're making our game for.
We are a collection of car fanatics, we love tuning and wrenching on our
We also have a lot of enthusiasts here at Falken Tire, which makes it a
really easy fit for us to collaborate and do this partnership together.
I think its great for Forza to have the Falken Porsche in game. What it
brings to our players is the ability to take a real world race-car that
they see every weekend racing around the United States and bring it into
the game and be able to actually experience what it's like to take that
full bred race-car onto the same tracks they see at race every weekend.
And try to beat the lap times, win the race and compete against their
friends. It's an important part of actually bringing fantasy to life.
The livery contest actually came about from a collaboration that Forza and
the American Le Mans series did together during our 2013 season. Each month
they would work with a different team to do a promotion of some sort and we
really wanted to do something unique. For decades now we have ran a
traditionally teal and blue Falken Motorsports livery on everything that we
Falken Tire challenged our fans to paint their car. ultimately one of our
fans liveries was chosen and painted onto their car to race at Petit Le
Mans in Road Atlanta.
Livery creation in Forza Motorsport isn't necessarily easy, it's meant to
empower artists the tools meant to give them a way for them to express
themselves. so the amazing works of art they create simply can't be created
The painters and tuners in Forza Motorsport are continually pushing the
boundaries what can be be done in game. And thats why were excited to bring
that community together with Falken Tire.
Out of 200 submissions of different designs, we basically chose the top 6,
and then we left it up to our Facebook fans to decide who the winning
design was. turned out to be a designer from Belgium named Kevin Neuville.
Talk about a unique opportunity you know, thiswas the first and probably
the last time that you'll ever see a one off design on our Porsche program
and for it to be the time we win Petit Le Mans is a pretty rare opportunity
to say the least.
As we approach the release of Forza Motorsport 5, Falken Tire has
challenged our community again. This time to paint Dai Yoshihara's Subaru
BRZ, the one that will compete in the 2014 season.
Taking a step even further the Porsche livery that was a one event limited
time contest. The BRZ livery is actually going stay on the vehicle for the
duration of the 2014 Formula D season. Im anxious to see what creative
ideas come out of that contest."
