THE CHRIS RADO IN CAR EXPERIENCE
Chris Rado's Scion tC certainly has a lot of people talking this year... Whether it's discussions about the functionality and aesthetics of the fwing, or stories about him lighting up his front wheels in 6th gear on the straight at Nashville, this machine certainly has raised some eyebrows. It's also the most extreme and powerful front wheel drive time attack car on the planet. Chris seems rather happy to have gobs of power under his right foot... it's said that the Scion now has 1000 bhp available on the straights. So we thought it would be cool for you to experience two laps of Willow Springs with this overpowered car. There don't seem to be very many moments when Chris fully opens up the throttle, but as you watch the video, you can really see just how much power is in tap...Hope you like! 2014 Scion tC Test Drive and Compact Car Video Review
When the Scion brand debuted as a 2004 model year, the goal was to target a younger car buying crowd with affordable and stylish vehicles. Fast forward almost a decade and Scion is still at the forefront with vehicles like the FR-S and the tC. This 2014 Scion tC is in its 2nd generation and has undergone a handful of changes most notably on the exterior. The base model Scion tC with manual transmission starts at $19,200 and the top of the line Anniversary Edition is $22,440. Scion updated and restyled the tC with a whole new front end consisting of: new hood, new lights, LED's, new front fascia all in an effort to resemble the FR-S. The wheels are standard 18-inch machine-finished alloys. Out back the rear tail lights are LED and the rear bumper is designed to also look like the FR-S. The 2014 Scion tC is loaded and for only $20k you get a ton of great features. First of all you get A/C, cruise control, power everything, and a full panoramic sunroof. Now many cars may offer these items but where the tC really jumps ahead is the inpressive 6.1-inch Pioneer audio system featuring Bluetooth. Under the hood lives a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 179 horsepower and 172 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission options are a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic and fuel economy is 23 MPG in the City and 31 MPG on the highway for both transmissions. The automatic has a system called Dynamic Rev Management which makes the car a little more entertaining to drive. To make the car even more fun, Scion has retuned the electric steering and the suspension.
